Hello,
today I’ll be suggesting some things to add to the forums


Reduce/remove posting cooldown for well-known members
I know that the posting cooldown was reduced some months ago, but it’s still annoying
Well-known members shouldn’t have to wait when posting a message. They are more trusted than new members. The cooldown should be removed when someone:
-Has posted X messages
and/or:
-Has a X years old account
The posting cooldown prevents spam, but I think that someone’s cooldown should be reduced or removed when they meet the requeriments

Another way to add this:
-0 messages -> 45 seconds cooldown
-1000 messages -> 35 seconds cooldown
-2000 messages -> 25 seconds cooldown
-3000 messages -> 15 seconds cooldown
-4000 messages -> 5 seconds cooldown (which is nothing imo)
-5000 messages -> No cooldown
These are just examples and can be edited

By the way, this is the main suggestion of this thread. I think that we really need this


Editing statuses or profile posts
It’s annoying when you update your status and make a spelling mistake. You’ve to delete it, type it again, wait 45s, etc. It’d be cool if you were able to edit the last message you posted, for 1 minute. After 1 minute, you won’t be able to edit it. There could be a text box, something like: “You’re able to edit this post for: 54 seconds”


Another cool thingie that should be added
Members who posted X messages should also be able to lock their own threads, because why not
I don’t think that it would cause any problems. It’s my thread and I should be able to lock it


Other stuff:
-The cooldown should be removed when you delete a profile post. Right now, when you make a spelling mistake and delete the post to repost it, you’ve to wait 45s anyway.

-MORE TROPHIES!!!!
-Ability to delete thread messages. We should be able to delete cringe messages or messages posted accidentally

Editing status messages or profile posts I disagree with. There is a reason Twitter doesn't allow this, and it's to maintain the integrity of a conversation. I also disagree with members being allowed to lock their own posts, just because the original poster might have their answer doesn't automatically mean that the discussion has come to an end, posts don't tend to be only relevant to the person posting them, but also to other forum readers/lurkers that could benefit from the discussion continuing.

With regards to the posting cooldown, I'm considering different ways of doing this. Now we have the ability to link in game accounts with forum accounts, we could perhaps extend rank perks to include some forum perks as well.

I understand ur reasoning. But:

It’d be cool if you were able to edit the last message you posted, for 1 minute

^ I suggested this because it's annoying when you make a spelling mistake and have to delete the whole post, type it again, wait, etc.
We should be able to edit profile posts just for 1 minute, so we have time to edit spelling mistakes

Hmm no I don't think you should have a better cooldown just because you payed for a rank. There are lots of people with 0 messages who would spam because they have bought obsidian rank. (But ik you didn't say exactly this)

Agreed, just because they buy a rank doesn't mean they are more trust worthy. They can have an obsidian rank and don't use the forums at all and not use it at all.
It'd be must nicer if trust worthy people would have a cooldown reduce. It'd be a nice rewards for them too.

Ideas for new trophies:

• 10 points for if you link your forums account with your MineCraft account. (Yes I capitalized the C)
• 20 points for if you are registered for 1 year and have 2000 messages.
• 20 points for if you are registered for 1 year, have 2000 messages and 3000 likes.
• 40 points for if you are registered for 2 years, have 3000 messages and 3000 likes.
• 20 points for if you manage to get on any forum leaderboard.
• 30 points for if you manage to get on 2 forum leaderboards.
• 40 points for if you manage to get on 3 forum leaderboards.

The number of points you get for the trophy could always be changed.

You could also add some different ratings which would give you access to other prefixes?
E.g. Funny Rating, X number of these would make you Funny Member
Helpful/informative rating which would make you a Helpful Member
These I don't imagine would give you benefits perse but it'd just be a nice prefix you'd earn.
So you could end up being "Funny Active Member" for example.

Seems to be the current year milestone achievements taken a bit too far imo. These combined goals are mostly already trophies on their own.

The points leaderboard gives you points?
That's like giving players experience rewards for leveling up.
As for messages or like leaderboards, sure I guess. I don't really like how difficult it is to get to that point, but meh.
