(I made a similar post like this 5 months ago but it didn't get any attention - https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/choose-a-custom-price-for-the-shop-in-the-favorites-menu.309654/)

Alright, so if you played Eggwars before December of 2021, you might remember that certain aspects of the Eggwars Shop used to be different. I'm talking about the price of blocks. Bascially, the options (In OP mode) were:

  • 5 iron = 15 Terracotta
  • 8 iron = 24 Terracotta
  • 21 iron = 63 Terracotta

I didn't have a problem with this, however in the Eggwars update, they decided to change it to:

  • 1 iron = 3 blocks
  • 4 iron = 12 blocks
  • 21 iron = 63 blocks
I have 2 problems with this.

My first problem is that the 1 iron option is kinda useless. I have barely used it.

Secondly, let's say you have 20 iron. You would need to click 5 times to buy 60 Terracotta. I think that this is already inconvenient, but it gets really bad if you have like 300 ping.

So my suggestion is to bring back the 8 iron for 24 Terracotta option instead of the 1 iron for 3 blocks because it didn't really have a problem. Or, if you really don't want to remove the 1 iron option you might aswell change it to this:

Edit: I also forgot to mention that the Eggwars Update made generators start while you are in your cage. This made obtaining resources like iron easier. So I don't get why you would add a 1 iron option.

If you agree with this, then react with :agree:

i think cubecraft should just make an option for you to buy things in a custom amount
I don't think that's a possibility for the CC team to create nor do I think it's worth implementing.

If you think about it, Eggwars is a super competitive gamemode. People do not have time to type out some numbers just to buy a specific amount of terracotta (or hardened clay).

Now it’s annoying like who would buy 3 blocks for 1 iron.
Not only that, 1 iron for 1 block in hardcore, 1 iron for 2 blocks in Normal, and 3 iron for 3 blocks in OP
The iron -> block ratio isn't bad it's the 1-3 blocks you are buying.

Now lets look at the shop buys

In the old update the shop buys were(after the addition of 8 iron buys):

HC: 5:5, 8:8, 32:32
NO: 5:10, 8:16, 32:64
OP: 5:15, 8:24, 21x63

The new buys are now:

HC: 2:2, 10:10, 64:64
NO: 1:2, 5:10, 32:64
OP: 1:3, 5:15, 21x63

Builder Kit still gives the original 5 iron buy(converted to andesite)

HC: 5:5
NO: 5:10
OP: 5:15

With Builder kit in ANY GAMEMODE a player can fully protect their teams egg, additionally in the older version of Eggwars the FIRST and CHEAPEST buy for blocks would give you enough blocks to protect your egg(hardcore) and/or give you extra to build to the center of the map or protect your egg additionally(Building a wall/more layers)

Now for the excuses people make to avoid the change/revert

"People are now use to the new shop buys and not the old ones"
Weren't we all use to the original buys before the update? So why change it then? Additionally that update was more useful in the buys than now. Not only in usefulness but as well options.

(Staff) *"**The new shop buys are here because they work mathematically better"

* Indicates not direct quotes(this is from memory) | ** Indicates a "To my knowledge" I did not want to make the title longer than needed

With the old update HC was 1:1 Ratio, in NO had a 1:2 Ratio, OP had a 1:3 Ratio. The current update still holds this Ratio BUT you just have a single block buy that is completely useless except if you are clearing your inventory with extra Iron, which in hardcore that purpose is thrown out the window due to the cheapest buy being a 2:2 rather than a 1:1.
Furthermore, this change does not help with anything, if I need blocks I need blocks IMMEDIATLY, to either
A) Protect Egg
B) Build to Center
C) Side Rush/Rushing in general
D) Run Away
2-3 blocks do not help me at all for any of these but to get extra island out of my inventory, additionally I do not believe even the majority of people use this option to buy blocks otherwise. I would love to have a use for the base buy option in the game atleast the bare minimum of protecting my egg(regardless of gamemode chosen).

And to finalize this point on EVERY map the first buy can protect your egg(and more) (5-15 blocks)
The second buy could get you to center on almost EVERY map(8-24)(excluding megas)
And on EVERY map the most expensive buy can get you to center, protect your egg AND still have some left over.

You basically said it perfectly, not sure if I have anything to add other than:

"People are now use to the new shop buys and not the old ones"

Yep, this is an excuse I've been hearing from mostly newer players. We were used to the old 5,8,21 iron options too.

Another excuse I've been hearing is: "The 1 iron option exists so you can use ALL your iron!"

Well yea, but honestly when's the last time you used it? Did you REALLY need those 3 blocks? You could just go to a gen and collect 3 more iron and buy 12 blocks with 4 iron instead of some 3 blocks that you "really needed them!"

Now removing the 1 iron will only leave 2 options, That's the reason I gave this thread its title. I think the 8 iron option was really good, and I'm clueless as to why they removed it. If they replace the 1 iron with the 8 iron option, I have nothing to complain about.
