Man, I did though with other threads. It's funny cause I saw 2 of them look at my thread, but no response or vote from either. Does it really take that long? They were all online as well.
Wonder why some said to me they try their best to look at threads. They could at least go a little over board even though that isn't their main task. It wouldn't really hurt to do so. Besides, only takes a few minutes to read and reply. So time is out of the question. But yeah, the fact they even do care is still there which I honestly doubt they do actually. So I guess that makes sense.
If we wanted to say something, you would see a response. To me, sometimes I feel like my opinion would become rather redundant, so I won't comment. In other cases, I don't see anything of particular interest, so I won't comment. There's no point in harrowing after someone for their opinion if they didn't share it in the first place.
I see that it may not interest you or other staff, but what if a player asks for feedback for their thread or something? It doesn't quite seem right for you to just ignore them when they ask you. As staff, don't players expect you do respond to them regardless of what it is?
I can see why our opinions may have a different weight as oppose to a regular forum user. However, if you want a genuine response and not one without actual thought behind it, you should let nature do its work. I'm in favor of the first, so even if I were to pinged, I wouldn't necessarily respond if I have nothing noteworthy to say.
Actually, it would be noteworthy. Remember, your a staff and players want staff to respond to their thread. It's kinda an encouraging thing when a staff responds to a players thread.
When I say "nothing noteworthy to say", I don't mean noteworthy as in recognition but noteworthy in content. I know it can be encouraging, but personally I lean more towards constructive criticism than spouting out random things.
So basically, you would rather go for a more thoughtful response rather then just a genuine response? I could see that. Also, what your saying is that a thread that interests you more make you want to give a response? And also, how about if the community wants that idea in a thread, but that doesn't interest you, would you still respond to that?
A thoughtful + genuine response, not one by itself. A thread that has a topic that interests me would naturally prompt me to reply. A thread with an interesting topic, but a boring discussion/planning, even more so less. A thread with a boring topic, but interesting discussion by that standard would then of course entice me to participate. That is... if I have anything new/constructive to contribute.
