Actually, if you compare emerald rank to obsidian rank, there really are few differences. I would personally not mind to see just a few changes there. Didn't they completely remove it from the menu?

I think that it would be better if you were able to queue/wish what the next map starting would be so when the next map is being created, you will have the first in the queue. Having one of every map would just leave it all empty.

I honestly do not see the problem problem of this difference, as the ranks are shown differently in tab or by the command /who, /list, /online, etc. By holding the mouse over the name then yes, they do have the same color, but to even realize that, you have to read the name of the rank before...
