Then there is still the problem that the gap between good players and new/bad players will be really big. The good players will basicly live forever.

Yea shopping with wizard is def way to broken in FFA, but just like that, the weak point of wiz would be his armor so you can like do him alot of damage, if the healing system would be added then wiz will always be OP af especially if they can just kill Samurai kits with a few crits. So lets...
The problem with heal boost or regen boost is that whenever you are close to death you can have a friend that is willing to sacrifice themself, and if you will shop you will basicly be unstopable. Also the players that pvp more often will have a huge advantage on others.

Well I think just camp till you have enderpearls is the best way, the stress you get from being with a shield on a bridge while people are shooting you is so much
If I am right it still reduces the incomming damage, and I think its better this way because otherwise people will just sit in a corner with a shield (maybe multiple shields in inv) and just wait the whole time, and in some games like FFA gear cant break so you could live forever
