+1 because I think sumo would allow most players to be able to test the limits of the new knockback and be able to see what they can do with just the kb and no weapon or armor based combat.

NGL this is Eggwars, not treasure wars or bedwars. Eggwars was never really compatible with rushing in the first place, especially looking at the kits and prices of blocks, armor, and the fact that you need food.
