    What CPU?

    1. That's a $1700 CPU. Are you sure you want to spend that much? That CPU by itself is more than half the cost of my entire system, including two 4K monitors. 2. That motherboard won't work with the 6950X. You need an X99 (socket LGA2011-3) motherboard if you want to use the 6950X. 3. That RAM...

    Which pc should I purchase?

Oh goodness, I hope he didn't pay $1800. That's more than it cost when it launched more than 2 years ago. These days, it's worth like $600.

OP, what's your budget? I'll put together a parts list for you.

In your opinion what is the minimum Hardware to run Cube Craft?

Bare minimum? Probably something from the Intel Arrandale family (first gen Core) or up with integrated graphics. Minimum for an enjoyable experience? I'd go with at least an i3/modern Pentium/AMD Athlon x4 and a GT 730 or better.

    1080 vs 1070

Both are stellar cards for the money (assuming you don't pay a scalper to get one) and perform admirably at 4K. If you want the best bang for your buck, get the 1070. If you want the latest and greatest the GPU industry has to offer (neglecting the new Titan X), go for the 1080.

    i5 VS i7

Your i3 is great for Minecraft. Vanilla Minecraft is heavily single-threaded so the extra cores won't help unless you want to run large modpacks, in which case an i7 would be ideal. Base on my own testing, some mods have multithreaded workloads and benefit from the extra threads an i7 has. If...

OP, what laptop do you have? Knowing your laptop specs will help us give an answer that will work best for you.

    New Laptop? Help

That's a nice laptop, but at $1300 it's hardly worth the money when you can get almost the exact same specs for $400 - $500 less.

    New Laptop? Help

The Lenovo has a 56Wh battery, which according to Lenovo's site will power the laptop for up to 8 hours. While gaming, it'll probably be closer to 2 hours. The Dell has a 74Wh battery, which Dell claims can power the laptop for up to 10 hours. While gaming, the larger battery should compensate...

It's not on new Lenovo laptops any more, but even so there are much better laptops for the money (like the one I linked).

    New Laptop? Help

For less money, you can get the Inspiron 7559 with a better CPU and GPU (and likely better cooling). You can then use the money you saved to get a 250/500GB SSD for it...

    New Laptop? Help

The Inspiron 7559 is a good deal for the money. It has variations ranging from an $800 model with an i5 and 1TB HDD to a $1200 model with an i7 and 4K touchscreen. All of them come with a 4GB GTX 960M, which is essentially the exact same as a desktop GTX 750 Ti. This is also a good place to...

    PC Setup/Spec Thread

The AMD E-series CPUs are meant to compete with Intel Atom chips, so they're not great for much more than schoolwork. On average, I'd say I get somewhere between 350-600. When playing games like Egg Wars, though, I break 1000 a lot of the time because there's not much to render on void maps. I...

Craigslist has steals sometimes. Sometimes they're steals in the more literal sense ( :p ), but these were from a guy who was getting them in bulk for cheap, selling them, and keeping the gift cards they came with.

Thanks! I don't want this thread just to be me showing off, though. I'd like to see what others have going on! Nice! I had a laptop with an i5-5300U and it was pretty great as a school PC. It didn't have a dedicated GPU like yours, though, so gaming performance wasn't up to snuff.

If you want some of the latest and greatest of what Intel and Nvidia have to offer (and don't want to overclock), here is probably the best you can get for your money: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£239.99 @ Amazon UK)...

    1. The 6700K is better than the 4790K in almost every benchmark. If you don't believe me, you can look it up yourself. The benchmarks I linked were the result of about five minutes of searching online, so it's safe to say that what I linked is just the tip of the ice berg. 2. I didn't add fans...

    Gaming PC build

I already addressed this in the post you are replying to: Are you legitimately trying to claim that 1600MHz DDR3 RAM has a chance at being better than 2400MHz DDR4? Clock-for-clock, DDR4 is always better, and the RAM I picked out is clocked higher. Will this matter in games? Not by much, but...

    Add NA server

I usually get under 100ms ping (I'm on the east coast), but far too often I have to deal with lag spikes that result in rubber banding. The lag has gotten a lot less troublesome lately (thank God that the block pillaring rubber banding is gone), but it's still annoying to the point that I...

    Gaming PC build

Let me break this up so it's a little easier to read: 1. There is only one benefit in choosing the RAM you chose, and that is aesthetics. It's slower (albeit only slightly for gaming purposes), more expensive, and prohibits easy expandability (a hallmark of PC gaming), but it'll sure look nice...

It's only about £30 more than his budget. Swapping to an i5-6500 would fix that. I strongly advise against that motherboard. PC MATE motherboards are cheap because they are low-tier in quality for their chipsets. I wouldn't overclock much if at all on that board. You're also paying out the nose...
