Build a platform at Y=0, and let mobs fall from 200 blocks or more. Only for a pig farm(+lava) 70-80 blocks are more than enough. NOTE: I have a pig farm(64 spawners) and it doesnt lag at all. Only cactus farms lags because they drop all at once, so you can build it near the world edge.

Maybe the game should give "damage" if a Player enters his own portal while being in a fight. EXAMPLE: you push a Player with X health in his portal, when he teleported the games adds the damage, result he dies and you get the kill. Player Health =X Portal Damage =Y if (X-Y) = 0,, the player dies.
