tnt jumping

when I try to ''Tnt jump'' I just die from the tnt explotion. I've seen many videos of people doing it and I can't seem to get it right. Any tips?

when i was playing skywars i thought i want to tnt jump. Then i thought is this even allowed. So i want to know is it allowed or not
