All Networks 1.8 server

Dear everyone,

Today I launched up Minecraft trying to play some skywars. Which I haven't done for a very long time. I used to play for hours when the game was still on 1.7 and 1.8. Those were the days when you had people that actually could pvp well on servers like Badlion and MCSG. The community of Huahwi basically. Now I found out that you guys dont even support 1.8 anymore. This sucks so much that I just won't play anymore. The whole game has been ruined by whoever thought it was a good idea to put delay on hitting, adding shields etc. I really can't put my finger on the fact that there are actual people in this world who ruined my childhood game.

1.8 closed a year ago because of lack of players on that version. I still prefer the 1.8 pvp system rather than the 1.12.2 one, but there is nothing to do about that. However, you can keep playing CubeCraft with a pvp system really similar to 1.8 Java on the Bedrock Network. Also, Minecraft Bedrock is now free for everyone that has a Java account, so you can move to that network at cost 0.

Well, that would be Mojang sadly. A lot of us in the PvP and minigames community still don't agree with the change, but they did it and not a lot can be done with it. I know that jeb (MC lead developer) is working on an update to the combat system, but it has been on a bit of hold for quite a while sadly...

Otherwise, I really suggest you take josepadgui up on his idea and try the Bedrock community/server. I used to be a Java player and I'm now playing on Bedrock and I have to say it's quite fun. So give it a shot and yea, the PvP is really close to what we used to have on Java, it's actually not that bad.

As for the suggestion, I don't agree with adding a 1.8 Java server again, it just wouldn't be possible and logical for them financially, organisation-wise, or just in general. Sadly running servers and especially running them well for a lot of versions is really not simple...

Rod works very differently in 1.9+; it reels in targets instead of applying knockback when the bobber hits the target. But in 1.8, you can use snowballs and eggs in place of a rod.

FnS is unchanged. Oh and the same could also be said for most PvP players in FFA who get angry if something is out of the norm (e.g. a very good archer shuts down their melee kits).

Now on-topic for the OP: even if a 1.8 server were to return, it would stand no chance against Hypixel's competition. Hypixel is already top of the top in terms of playerbase in Java 1.8. Even Cube's 1.12.2 server doesn't have as many players as it once had 5+ years ago, and that's a sign that Cube's Java servers are in the decline.

Though I do agree that 1.8 is amazing for pvp I don’t think it’s a good idea to support it on Cube again. It got removed for a reason: it wasn’t active. There were also TONS of hackers, literally every game I played there was at least one cheater.. and indeed like someone else said bedrock has similar pvp like 1.8 so that would be a good fix.
