Introduction
Hey guys, I'm creating this thread to gather some statistics about Minecraft updates.
This thread is being posted on numerous different minecraft related forums including forums for other servers to gather as many responses as possible. Please link this thread to your fellow Minecraftians so that we can gather as much opinions as possible to make this as accurate as we can.

1.9 Snapshots
Over 2 years ago, I posted a thread asking people's opinions about 1.9 before it came out. I found that there was quite a mixed stance on people's opinions about 1.9 pvp, but overall it appeared that the majority of players did not like the idea of minecraft 1.9 being implemented how it was in the snapshots.

Community after 1.9
Just over 1 year ago, I posted another thread after 1.9 was released to discuss what other members of the Minecraft community thought the problems with Minecraft were. I was wondering how much 1.9 would be brought up and it was brought up by some of the community.

Its good you posted this on the cube craft forums because people here prefer 1.9, that will put more votes towards 1.9, because most of the votes are towards 1.8

I'm curious as to why you think 1.9 PvP is the best, I personally believe 1.8 PvP is better.
Something about 1.9 PvP just doesn't feel right to me, It almost feels glitchy or broken. People have tried explaining to me that this is because I've played Minecraft for many years and become accustomed to pvping before the update, but It's been 2 years since the snapshots were released and I'm pretty sure I would have gotten used to 1.9 pvp by now if that were the case. It has had such a large impact on the game that I stopped playing the game because the changes were negative and discouraging. I don't think 1.9 was a healthy change for the progression of minecraft, I think instead it broke a significant part of the game.

Don't worry, I trust you. Anyways, the most popular version is always gonna be the latest version, don't quote me on this but some people don't even know how to change the version :L

Would be much appreciated if you could find the source of your information about which versions are more popular, I couldn't find any statistics or anything that actually backs that statement that has been posted by Mojang, so you must have found something that I haven't found.

I'm just going to post here what I posted in another forum:

I really like both types of PvP. I constantly switch between versions because it can get quite boring after playing one kind of PvP for hours and hours. Both have their ups and downs.

For examples the knockback in 1.8 makes it challenging, especially when playing games such as Skywars and Eggwars. Health management also plays a big role in 1.8.
1.9 in the other hand has high regeneration and slow combat which makes fights less fast paced and more strategic.

but anyways.
I prefer 1.8 hugely because I'm not the type of person who slow clicks. The 1.8 PVP on cube craft is pretty sucky and the knock back is nightmare.

Good idea! People keep saying 1.8 is dead yet in the polls it says 1.8 is winning all votes. Im not saying that 1.9 sucks, im just saying I hate those people who say "1.8 is all about spam clicking and everyone in 1.8 are bad" and 1.8 people say "They dont know how to combo at all" when THINK PEOPLE!! In both versions you strafe, combo, and time your hits! You dont just click everywhere! But +1 and the straw poll, I think 1.8 is still alive. I like both 1.8 and 1.9. Also keep in mind its not called "1.8 pvp" its been part of minecraft FOR YEARS! All version but 1.9+. But either way, all almost the same. Sorry if this starts any drama
