Hi,
I'm back with attempt #301419 for CubeCraft to re-add the Parkour Minigame.
Before I'm getting into the ways to add the game, I'll first explain a bit about what the game is.
I'd like to mention, that the Parkour Minigame =/= Parkour (Gamemode). It obviously involves parkour but it's not the same as regular parkour. So don't tell me it's already a thing. It's really not.
I have found three ways to add the Parkour Minigame back into CubeCraft.
1. Simply re-adding it as it's own game in the lobby. It will probably not be popular enough to bring it back as a permanent game. But re-adding it was a featured game could definitely be an option.
If the game gets added as a featured game (or permanent game), nothing would change. It would be like the normal arcade games. You spawn into the arcade lobby, and you can vote for a map.
No weird modes either. Such as ''no power-ups''. Power-ups are important for the game. They can really make a huge difference. An ''Infinity Mode'' would be nice. In this mode, instead of needing 10 diamond blocks to win, you need to get as many points as possible in a certain amount of time.
Game changing modes is just a no-go for me. As I said, a ''no power-ups'' mode would change the game a lot.
2. Re-adding it under the Parkour tab.
I mean, it's parkour, so you might as well add it with parkour.
It'll have a bigger chance of dying, because nobody looks at parkour.
If the game gets added under the Parkour tab, it'll be the same as adding it as it's own game. But then you spawn in a room in the map. (You can also still spawn in the Arcade lobby, but seeing as it's a part of Parkour, it might be a better idea to spawn in a room). And again, nothing changes. Except perhaps a ''Infinity Mode''.
3. Re-adding it as a bossgame in Mineware.
This is the reason I started the thread. Because the first two ways are most likely not going to get added. But adding it as a boss game in Mineware might actually be considered.. Especially since there are more arcade-like games as boss games. (Snow Spleef, TNT Spleef, Fly Through The Hoops) Re-adding it in Mineware would change a few things. You would have the same maps, or perhaps there would be different maps that are in the same theme as the main map. There are no voting options.
You have to either get as many blocks as possible in two minutes, or you have to get 5 blocks as fast as possible.
That was it, thank you for listening to my ted talk.

So, what exactly is the parkour minigame?
Once you join a map, you spawn in the waiting lobby and wait for everyone to join. This can either be in a room in the map itself, or this can be in the arcade waiting room. Then you get teleported to begin point, the middle. Which slightly stands out from the other platforms. (Every platform is 3x3 (There were some maps with different size platforms, but to keep it easy, we're keeping it on 3x3)) The spawn point / middle platform is only slightly different by changing the middle block. Nothing too big.
Previous maps:
Bad quality, I know. I'm sorry. This is a screenshot from a YouTube video...
But I mean.. bad quality picture for a bad quality map..
As you can see in the pictures, the platforms are spread across the map. You have to jump from one platform to the other, in order to get to places. Making it parkour. There are launch pads on some of the platforms, so you can easily go from one side of the map, to the other.
I'm pretty positive these maps did not get saved, but even if they were, there should be new maps if the Parkour Minigame gets added. Except candy, I enjoyed the maps. But they look very basic compairing to some of the other maps CubeCraft has in other games, currently.
There are power-ups, that randomly spawn around the map. There are six power-ups in total:
Redstone Block: Spawns TNT above every player except the player who broke the block.
Obsidian: Gives every player, except the player who broke the block, a wither effect, for a couple of seconds.
Lapiz Block: You get a speed effect for a couple of seconds.
Iron Block: You get a jump boost for a couple of seconds.
Glass: You get a invisibility effect for a couple of seconds.
Diamond Block: Gives you an extra point.
Once you hit a diamond block, you get a point. As said above. When you have 10 points. You win the game.
