A purpose for the emeralds...

There should be an in-game Skywars shop that you can access by right clicking an emerald, maybe an emerald kit with some starter emeralds.

We originally chose to add the emeralds so that you could use the beacons in the map "end".. not exactly for shops, as thats there at the beginning.

Yeah because emeralds are a bit useless atm, unless you craft them into blocks for building...

ya unless your on the map end, emeralds have no use. in the emerald kit you should get a beacon along with it.

When you get a emerald you are suppose to annouce in chat that you have a emerald, so then everyone will jump off and you win

Emeralds are for beacons in the End map, but they are pretty much useless on other maps.
