Java Achievements for featured games

The title explains it all. I think it would be good to add an achievements icon in the menu when clicking on the featured games NPC. This would motivate players (and let me look at my Blockwars achievements which I worked hard for and had not yet completed 4). See what I mean? An easy way to get players to play games a bit more and (here I go again) just a little for us nostalgic players.

The thing is, the featured games are only there for 14 days to see how many players who actually play the game and enjoy it. In the end they will look at the stats for each game and maybe bring something back.

If there were achievements to the games, people who only care about xp/level would only play for the achievements and then stop playing this game mode. In my opinion the stats wouldn’t be correct if tons of players did this and it would be better to add the achievements later.

Also not sure if it’s a bug or they wanted to add this but the achievements for Minerware actually works. I was able to do 1 achievement I remember that I didn’t had earlier.

Yes! The games are featured, meaning they already had the achievements, and just like you can take a look at your statistics for a final time, you should be able to look at your achievements for the final time!

Achievements also are a new source of having fun in a game, because, to be honest, some games might get boring after a while, and achievements might bring the challenge back in them.

Honestly, at this point, achievements are sort of useless.
There's virtually no point of going for achievements in a game that probably won't appear for the next 2000 years.
Not only does is it a waste developing for it, but it actually won't drag people as you claim.
Achievements are generally overlooked by the casual player (even no lifers ignore them), and it's not prestigious either.
From the achievements in place, they're pretty easy to get, and the only things they do... are... practically worthless either way.
If you really want to bring in people, either it needs to be advertised (idk, a live Cube Twitch Stream?) or improved on.
Achievements should be something once the game earns some recognition, so it's a decent side dish for them.

You make a good point and of course it won't bring that many people in. The idea of a live Twitch stream is probably the best and (being realistic) the one they should really work on, not a new shop system that will not make a big difference in the player numbers. To defend my point, I just want to screen-shot my blockwars achievements so that I have something to look at and remember the good days (I really have nostalgia issues don't I?). Anyway it was just an idea, and I value all opinions - for, and against, and the realistic ones.
