After reading this thread about changing the way to get abilities in skywars and eggwars, I'd like to suggest an alternative idea. Since I don't play eggwars this is mainly for skywars.

My idea is that every player has a certain number of ability points to spend, say 24. This number cannot be increased. Instead of purchasing an ability level, you have to unlock it for points, then you can activate it by spending an ability point or deactivate it to get your ability point back. When you first log in on the server, three abilities are completely unlocked and activated. Those should be the more boring ones, Feather Weight, Arrow Tank Skin and Agressive Mode.

The reason for this is that I don't think playing the game for a long time should give you an actual in-game advantage. Players that played for a long time will usually be better than new players already. As someone who purchased all abililties it doesn't feel as good to win a game knowing that most players started with a disadvantage already.

Similar thing for kits. I think that some good, basic kits, maybe the Iron Golem and the Swordsman (although I hope those get nerfed in the next update anyways) should be free and available to all new players. With points you could unlock the more interesting kits to allow more strategies. Again it just doesn't feel as rewarding to win if most players started with a disadvantage. It even feels cheap to vote for basic knowing that having purchased the Iron Golem or Swordsman kit is often a requirement to survive the first fights.

Also I want to urge at least not to remove the No Kits and Abilities mode if those changes aren't made, for the same reasons. I don't want to get another mode where long time players get an advantage. Also I like the No Kits and Abilties mode in general plz dont remove.

I like this suggestion since abilities are a huge advantage in skywars. If this were to be added some abilties should be buffed like the extra wood/treasure abilities to make them worth spending your limited ability points on. Some might also need to be nerfed as well to make it less appealing to dump all of your ability points into certain abilities like feather weight and speed which I find extremely useful and powerful.

I feel like the new kit balancing update will be enough to make it so the starter kits are pretty on lar with all the other kits so I don't think more kits should be unlocked at the start. This does give me an idea for another suggestion though :)
