We all know staff get a ton of applications every day, almost all of which are a waste of time. (I think) <25 players can actually get helper at this point. Assuming 150 applications are sent per day, that equates to 4500 per month. When you divide that, that equates to five-ninths of a percent of the applicants that have a decent shot. My idea is, it should be tied directly to one's forum account. Of course, it makes it so you need at least fifty messages and maybe one month on the forums. That way, way fewer applications are sent and they're much easier to go through. Let me know what you think!

Now that will prevent people who just joined to apply, but still, tspacecat has 50 messages and has been on the forums for way over a month (Oh my Jesus he joined before me).

I don't know though, if XenForo can be edited in such way.

This, overall, is a good idea. +1

I like your thinking! However it isn't a waterproof suggestion.

Players with less messages can have more depth and quality than those with more messages. I also feel like players will spam the forums to get 50 messages if this gets implemented.
Time on the forums also doesn't say everything about a player.

I like it, it doesn't solve the problem, but it would sure help!

Basically if you have fifty messages and one month on the forums, you'll gain access to a private forum Applications where you can submit an application.
Really, I think that every single person deserves a shot regardless of their messages because of quality over quantity. It may also create a lot of spam to get that 50 messages.

As mentioned by @zDutchie , it isn't the best idea. For example, someone who is applying for builder may be of a high enough calibre for the server, however is instantly denied because of a system. Personally it shouldn't matter that much. Considering most applicants are either rushing an application, or is very short and put little effort into it, it is easy to spot out a long application from a short one.

Also, with the new system, spam applications should stop as you can only apply when the forms are reset after the application period is over.

though it would reduce them as little as it may does still have potential

Although I'm aware there are issues, builder applications don't have a restriction. Also, many people spam anyway.

I think it would be good to tie the applications to forums accounts anyway so that people who don't have forums account don't make applications and admins can quickly deny applications as they can easily go from their application to their profile to see their content on the forums

I don't see why not.
Players with less messages can have more depth and quality than those with more messages.
And so...?
You need 50 messages to even be considered at all, so changing it to a requirement doesn't really change much.
If he had suggested that only players with 1,000 messages or above can apply, you would have a point.
I also feel like players will spam the forums to get 50 messages if this gets implemented.
There is already so much spam on the forums that that will not make a difference.
The gains far outweigh the losses.
For example, someone who is applying for builder may be of a high enough calibre for the server, however is instantly denied because of a system
Who ever said anything about Builder?

The entire point of this idea is to save the staff time.
However easily the staff can spot short Applications from long ones, you can't deny that this will save them time.

No they don't.
It has clearly been mentioned by staff that you need 50 messages to be considered.
they could be really in active and have only 10 messages but be really active in game.. I don't know.
Being active in-game does nothing to help your Application.
Also, I reiterate, you need 50 messages to be considered.
Only 10 messages gets you nothing.

I think no because, they could do this. *Figure out who is reading their application, fanboy them, gain their trust, and get in. Then, they act super mean to other people." I don't like the idea. I feel like the acceptance system should be completely random because of favoritism
