Now I know that applications are closed but I want to suggest something.
I find it unfair for people who want to apply for helper but they cant as they aren’t english. They might be spanish, dutch, etc.
So what if there was a few sections like
“Spanish Helper Application”
and
“Dutch Helper Application”

I myself do not speak any of these languages, but I think it isnt fair for others.
A: What about google translate?
Me: Google translate can not be 100% accurate so that isnt really an option.
In my eyes, I don’t think this really makes things worse. Want to make an application? Then select a language. Does it sound like a bad idea?

I think in general cubecraft should be in favor of all languages rather than strongly in favor of english.

Thanks for reading!

Well to apply for helper you have to be fluent in english so there is no point opening applications for people who cant speak english because they will be instantly denied for being unable to speak english.

I understand your concern, but I think it wouldn't be a good idea to accept someone to the staff team that doesn't speak English, just because it would limit the person who gets accepted to only be able to communicate with the few people in the staff team that talk Dutch or Spanish. (Or other languages)
It would be hard, for the staff team and for the helper himself to understand everything.
It could be a possibility though, language should never limit us.

When you become a staff member, you are a part of a team. That team needs to be able to work together and communicate effectively or else things won’t run smoothly. English is the common language amount all staff members so everything can be easily understood by everyone. Take me for example, I can only understand English fluently. If we added someone to the team who only spoke Spanish or Dutch, I would be completely unable to communicate with them or help them in any way. That person would be split from the majority of the team since we cannot understand each other.
I can see why this might seem like a good idea, but it would really hurt the team overall. Until translation for languages becomes even better, I don’t see this suggestion becoming a possibility.

Here's the problem: Cube is an English server, with English as their main focus on both the server and the forums.
Since English is the primary language here, it's necessary for the staff members to also speak it. I think it's safe to say that majority of the swearing/spamming/advertising/etc. is done in English too, so a staff member that can't speak English wouldn't be able to provide all that much in the chat department. Aside from that, appeals work the same way. I imagine a lot of people writing their appeal in English, so a staff member who can't speak English wouldn't be qualified for that either. Also, since speaking English is one of the skills that all staff members need to have in common, all staff can communicate with each other without any problems. Staff that can't speak English would have to have a translation of everything mentioned in order to follow.
And on top of all of what I mentioned, there's also the fact that the management team primarily, if not, only speaks English.

All of this aside, English is also a language that's taught (almost) everywhere, and the internet is pretty much full of English.

I do not agree with this.
English is the main language that Cubecraft uses at livestreams and on the forums. Your English needs to reflect how you are to the community. Staff members always reply to threads in English, so doing your application in any other languages wouldn't really make sense in my opinion.
Like @Gainfullterror said.

If you can't even read the application, applying is not a good idea, since this reflects you on the community.
I agree that more forum-sections should get translated!
@RemiO05 translated the "Allowed mods" page, that's a good first step!

But applications should stay in English.

I don't agree with your suggestion because we only need the best.
You just have to talk english to apply.

Way to much work for something so unnecessary. English is a .must have Then CCG looks into multi-lingual.

Unnecessary? I actually think its one of cubecraft more important problems to solve, being able to include on their server people who talk spanish and dutch.
If cubecraft wants to grow, the server must support as most languages as possible. Although what is proposed on this thread is not a good idea, what matters is the big message it sends, that cubecraft must be able to give support to players who talk different languages than english, starting with dutch and spanish.

It's better to have English first.

Ok, I just thought at the time it seemed a little odd. But I have it all cleared up now!

Hi! I'm new, and I don't really understand necroposting. There is an option to tick that says 'I understand that this post is 3 months old and would still like to reply', should we just never tick that? If so, what is its purpouse?
