Okay, let me explain this to you. When you connect to Wi-Fi, you get that IP. If you (or anyone else), takes another computer and connects to the same Wi-Fi network, you will get the same IP. IP banning could ban an entire school, household, library, or anywhere else.

By IP banning you might be talking about getting rid of alternative accounts. If we do a alt/IP check and (an) account(s) come(s) up, there's no way of proving that the account(s) belong to the banned hacker.

However this might be the only way to ban a hacker with alternate accounts, however a programmed ban would work for that.

no, it would have the same problem. You could ban alts who aren't actually alts, maybe just a friend at the same house.

Everyone has a different IP to the network/Wifi in their computer. If you have windows 7 then you can check. WIndows 10 however might not show this

even if another PC joined the wifi it will have the same ip no matter what (unless you use proxy)

Also if you mean to ban the PC only (if that is possible)
I know some people that share PC as 1 pc per family or 2
so if you are sharing you ban everyone who uses that PC

Finally the best a mod can do is this
Check the IP of the hacker
go check any player who has the same IP
and watch the player

even if another PC joined the wifi it will have the same ip no matter what (unless you use proxy)

Do you mean addresses like 192.168.X.Y? Because these are not "exported" and not visible to Cubecraft.

Every computer in your home network has its own unique IP. That is correct. They usually have the form of "192.168.*.*".
However, those IPs are only unique within your home network. My computer can have the same IP as yours.
Your computer most likely isn't connected to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) directly (unless you use a mobile network), but through a router. The router gets a unique IP from your ISP (that is actually unique in the world). This is your public IP. If you send data over the internet, your router replaces the source IP (your pc's address) with its own ip. This is called NAT (Network Address Translation). The recepient (e.g. the CubeCraft server) cannot see your local private IP. Just your public IP.
For that reason it is technically impossible to ban a single computer by its IP.

Thanks for explaining, however how where able to ban an account which was a farm liking account.
Like someone creates an account and farm's likes with it. The forums checked if they had the same IP. So it might be possible, I will tag @Mac to this conversation which might be able to explain this.

What i am getting is there is some sort of special IP for each PC
But there is A BIG PROBLEM with banning that "special" ip
Some people I know share 1 or 2 Computers For their family so if you ban this one PC if someone else in that family that plays CC and uses that PC then it would be a big problem
Luckily this is a rare thing to happen but might still occur

Ok if so, then how do they ban people? if they ban them by their name then they can simply change it.

Each minecraft accout has its own unique ID that the user cannot change. These can be used to identify a player even if he changed his name.

They definitely need to ban ip's but people can start using VPN's so they will require another solution for that. The anti-cheat is also under development so that should be seen soon enough!
