Hi there

The title might have explained everything, but read this anyways
So on Blockwars (or at least on CTF), you can be tied with the other team if no-one captures a flag.
There's an overtime mode which removes all the blocks placed ingame.
If that still isn't enough, the game will end in a tie.
This doesn't happen often (1/10 - 1/15) for me but it's still annoying when the teams tie, because you don't get anything from it.

My suggestion:
When the game ends up in a tie, look which team got the most kills, and let that team win.

There's a poll, use it : o
Ok bye

I actually don't agree with this.
Blockwars is a PvP game, sure but I don't think the team with most kills should win because most of the time, the team that get the most kills actually just "camp" and protect their flag when the other team try to win.

Then it's just better if the tie end up with both team winning tbh since it would be unfair to base this on kills.

People would just go full defense when overtime starts, they'll most likely win then without playing the game how it's supposed to be.
I do agree that one team should win, but I don't know how that should be decided :)

Yeah or just split the xp in half so you don't exactly win, but also don't lose, if you get what I mean

Disagreeing.
Imagine this being implemented, and that one team (only one) tries to capture the flag over and over again, and fails because the other team kills them so the team trying to capture the flag loses despite that they put the most effort into winning, since they were the only ones who actually tried to capture the flag. A bit too counter intuitive wouldn’t you say?

I however agree with that the game shouldn’t end in a tie, so something else can be done to solve it, or both teams can get a win in the situation.

Yeah like splitting the loot in half, so both teams get xp but not as much as winning

People would probably end up only defending in some games to get their kill count up for when the time runs out. During overtime, if they were smart about it, they'd probably also send a ninja or two to the opposite side to attempt to claim a flag. The defenders would all be able to easily outnumber approaching attackers, getting more kills than the other team could possibly imagine.
Blockwars is not a game that could profit by having a backup win system based off of kill count.

That's how it is on Halo (probably the most popular Capture The Flag rendition in gaming history). If the scores are tied, most kills = win.

they could solve it by doing that in addition to removing the blocks also remove the mining fatigue and duplicate the time for respawn

I don't think it would a good solution. The goal of block wars is to capture flags or to damage the enemy's core, not to get kills, many block wars strategies involve avoiding PvP. If we make people win because of the amount of kills, they would start focusing only in getting kills, making block wars a much different game. Maybe, to solve this problem, when the game ends up in a tie, the players receive 25 experience, or maybe more, but I do agree the players should receive something for spending 10 minutes playing.

This can't account for team imbalances, which occurs in 90% of games so nah.
My post on team balance has been mostly ignored so....

Almost everyone says about the same thing: dont do this but split the loot instead so both teams dont get the full winning loot but half of it
