Hello!

My name is Cuteee, and today I'm here to suggest a "new" game.

The point of this game is bringing back to life the old games, UHC, Speed UHC, Money Walls, Control point.

The game would work like this, every month two of the mentioned games are choosen (UHC and Speed UHC should never meet).

Something like this:

It would be situated like this in the compass:

Most of you will be thinking that realising games that have been removed it's a bad idea beacause after all they must've been dead to get removed. And well I got a clear answer for this, yes I know not that many people played those games, but if we put them all together we could've a quite big community.

And about the leaderboards, I've thought about two ways to make them

-Resetting the leaderboards every time the game goes out of rotation (Bad, in my opinion)
-Switching between leaderboards every time the games go/enter the rotation

I honestly would love to see this games re-implemented, and I think this is the most safe way to realise them.

Open to discussion, as always.

Thanks for reading!

Sounds like a good idea, except there are probably two reasons why games were removed, one being too few players and the other being bugs that were never fixed. If they rotate those games like this, they'll still have to fix those bugs. Still a good idea #bringmoneywallsback(sometimes).

They should fix the bugs before adding the game, tbh

I am against your idea. The reason why is because the games you listed were rarely played by players and/or there were annoying bugs in them. Sure, we could fix them, but I don't really think the community would be as hyped about those games again as in the past. But: It would be nice to have old arcade games added again. Hide&Seek would be nice, maybe the old Parkour game, SCB was a nice game either, and perhaps Hour Glass could be added too. (Not too sure about Hour Glass though.)
This could be a great Arcade update.
(My reaction is based on my personal interests, and to be honest I didn't really like Money Walls, Control Point and the other games you listed.)

How can you assure they wouldn't be hyped, I would honestly be really hyped to play games that go removed. I loved UHC and I found it a really nice game, just that it got ruined because of a bug. And the community would remember the times they spent in the past and would come in a heart beat.

Arcade is dead. And I doubt it can get revived that easily, people's just not interested on non-pvp games, and that's a fact. Arcade is a master peace, but sadly people just lost the interest on it.

I would personally like to revisit some of these removed games, however I don't think this idea would be very successful for a number of reasons:

There aren't that many popular removed games
This results in there only being 6 or so games on rotation, which might get stale quite quickly.

More development time required to bring back old games
Very old games may need to be reworked to be balanced with the 1.9 update, as well as reconfigured to work with the new features and infrastructure now added across all games, such as handling different cages, or working with the party system. I'd be very surprised if an old game could be re-implemented without needing to be modified in some way.

UHC and Money Walls have a tonne of bugs
Though I loved UHC, I was content with the decision to remove it since it appeared the developers were never going to get round to fixing it. Unless you're wanting the players to suffer or just ignore the bugs in Classic Games, I think it's a waste of development time to go back and try to fix the code instead of producing new content for the network.

The Classic Games model isn't very successful elsewhere
When Hypixel merged many of their older, less popular games into one lobby, they actually got fewer players per game than before. There is no more incentive to play them now than before - it's just an extra step to navigate to them. I realise your proposal is slightly different to this, since the games are only up for a limited time, however I can't see your envisaged "quite big community" growing around a group of unrelated games. People will only go to the Classic Games lobby when the current game is one they enjoy.

Limiting game availability to a rotation was unpopular in Arcade
Whilst there were just 3 static Arcade games available, many people complained about not being able to play their favourite games. Instead of playing a different Arcade game, many players just left and only rejoined to see if their favourite game had come back. I don't see why a rotation system for classic games wouldn't be equally unpopular.

If your idea was to be implemented, I'd rather have one gamemode at a time to maximise the player count and make it feel more special for the short time it was available. Mineplex has a system similar to this, where the players can vote for what the next game should be out of three options (though they do have many more Classic Games in total). Another consideration is how kits should work. I'd suggest unlocking all kits for everyone, but alternatively the kits could be reinstated as whatever was bought when the game was removed, or they could reset and be made purchasable each time the game is made available again.
