Hello All!

I have been thinking about this idea for a while, and thought it was about time I shared a rough outline as I haven't seen anything similar to this posted on the forums. This is an overall suggestion to revamp Cubecraft experience levels. There are two parts, the level rewards and the means of getting EXP.

The Problem:

At the moment levelling up Cubecraft levels is pointless. It doesn't give you anything apart from satisfaction and a sort of proof that you play a lot of Cubecraft. There is no incentive to play more and grind levels, and the means of getting experience is a bit difficult and unreliable. So I propose these changes, and obviously let me know your thoughts!

Level rewards:


I think there should be certain rewards as incentives for levelling up. I saw I think it was Hazard talk about the problems with providing cool free cosmetics, and I completely agree that spending lots of money on very cool cosmetics that people can all just obtain for free is not an effective way of running a server.
Instead of custom modelled cages and the like for levelling up, I think the rewards should be sort of as follows:


Prefixes:

Every 10 Cubecraft levels you go up you unlock a new prefix, something along the lines of [Level 10] [Level 20] [Level 30] [Level 40] [Level 50] [Level 60] [Level 70] [Level 80] [Level 90] [Level 100] [Level 110] [Level 120] etc.

Obviously these colours wouldn't be final, it was just to get the point across. And every 50 levels you go up the prefix changes slightly. From level 50 they become bold, from level 100 the whole prefix is coloured, that sort of thing. Again this isn't final, just an idea.


Other rewards:

In between each 10th level there should be some rewards. Not every level necessarily, but every few levels. These could range from 1 extra friend slot (if that were feasible) to simple cosmetics like cages that are a different colour of glass (I am not sure if those already exist on Bedrock but I'm VIP 30 and don't have any soo).

As well as this each level could include, if it were possible, a one-time-use vote for the type of items in a game. I think this could actually be beneficial as a 'taster' if you will of what the player would get if they purchased the rank for that gamemode.
I know that before I had any of the ranks it was always exciting to see someone vote Overpowered, and if you got the option to do so once every time you levelled up it would have made me want the rank more.


Levelling changes:
Now there is a post similar to this I read on the forums, however the ideas proposed I personally disagree with a lot of. I think in games such as Eggwars and Skywars there should be placement exp rewarded as well as win exp. It's frustrating when your playing a long game of eggwars against campers who eventually kill you, and that whole 15 minutes was completely wasted.

There are obviously problems with this idea, such as that it encourages camping, but in general people who care about Cubecraft exp are not the sort of people who camp anyway, and if there was some sort of exp reward for final kills/eliminations too, that would help.

Nice segue there to exp for Final Kills in Eggwars/kills in Skywars. The reward would have to be minimal , maybe 15 exp per final kill in both gamemodes, but it helps the players grinding levels against campers and the like.

These ideas aren't exclusive to Eggwars and Skywars,. I just used those two gamemodes as examples.


TLDR:
If you couldn't be bothered to read all that, and i don't blame you, to sum up I think that there should be rewards for levelling up your Cubecraft level. Not complicated custom-model cosmetics but simple ones such as prefixes, one-time-vote's for gamemodes and extra friend slots.

As for getting level exp, I think there should be an exp reward to second place in games such as Eggwars and Skywars, and in gamemodes like them also a small exp reward for getting final kills.

I don’t feel like it is necessary to give higher leveled players prefixes, but I do like the idea of giving stained glass cages.

I agree with the idea!
Level up rewards would be a great idea to keep players playing the game. Like what you said, cosmetics that are vanilla (different colors of cages, win effects, arrow trails, etc) should be earned through grinding the game while the custom ones should be paid for.
Earning XP through other means in game is also good to reward players who are active in the match, instead of doing nothing, as well as placement XP

Yep definitely. As I said there are some problems with rewarding placement exp, such as camping, but if it was just for first and second, and second place exp wasn't that much compared to first or top actually playing the game and getting exp for final kills, then it shouldn't be a problem.

I think they should also add xp multipliers that can be purchased for the entire server like hypixel, leveling up gets harder and harder the more you level up. Xp multipliers would be able to help by making the process faster.
I mean i personally don't see why not, but at the same time i also dont see any reason to. It kind of decreases slightly from the achievement of having reached such high levels

For example, I get the same feeling when I'm playing Survival games (since I play it quite a lot) and then I lose and get nothing out of the game because the only reward is 100 exp for the winner.

So we 100% agree that something has to be done with gaining exp and that long-time players do deserve at least a simple reward and a way, to show off how long they have been playing on the server. When it comes to the exp gaining I really like the idea of tieing some exp gain to the kill, since in comparison to the position gains it still requires the player to kill others himself and not wait till the end of the game. The reward for the winner should definitely be kept, though it might be a good idea to do some balancing between the games.

On the other hand, rewards for gaining levels have me a bit split in decisions. The cages idea I really love, since they are very simple and don't take value away from the VIP levels and bundles, but they are also unique and players would recognize what level a player is by looking at them. For the prefixes, on the other hand, I think the colours should definitely be connected to the colours of the cages to keep some consistency and they should stick to one simple design scheme (so no changes every 50 levels), since fancy colours are more of a paid type of reward. Though it would maybe be a cool idea to reward the player every so often with a fancier prefix like "Seasoned", "Veteran", or "Eliminator", maybe every 50 levels, like you suggested.

Anyway yea, those would be my comments and opinions on the idea. I really hope something like this gets implemented, otherwise if anyone has anything else to comment on it, I'd love to discuss it further.

I forgot that I wanted to respond to this, so I'm going to leave my input here as well quickly. While I understand, where you are coming from with the idea, I really don't agree with it. Cube has had this type of levelling system since forever as far as I know and it's the best way to see, how much time someone has spent playing the server. Implementing boosters that would make it easier for someone to increase the level would destroy this.

And also, currently, you don't get anything with levelling and even if this update happens, you won't get anything really major. It would just be a little thank you and a fancy way for long-time players to show off their achievements.

That idea is really cool. The tieing of cahe and prefix colour is a very good idea and makes perfect sense. I'm no expert with design so wouldn't have a clue what colours would apply to what levels but yeah.

As for your ideas on prefixes I like the idea of having some like 'Seasoned' and 'Veteran' however Cubecraft already has a 'prefix problem' as I am going to call it, as in the glaringly obvious downside to cubecrafts unique prefix system (which I find rly cool obviously, it just has downsides like everything), and they wouldn't be too recognisable as levelled prefixes, and I would always get them confused with prefixes from bundles or ranks.

This is a good idea! I mainly like the one free vote thing you mentioned. Even if the player decides not to buy a rank its still incentive to level up and play.
I think that's also my favourite idea too. I play a lot of skywars at the moment and I'd zay every other game there is someone asking for op items (then I feel bad as I choose normal)

It would just be a nice feature and I think it would encourage more people to buy ranks

That is a good point to. It wouldn't be too fair to people who grinded to get there, and would take away from the achievement

Some motivation like simple vanilla cage for some amount of lvl would be pretty nice and besides motivation it'll also make you feel good that you have somethink that shows what you are here - somethink like trophy.

I like your solution with campers (these people are topic of itself at all) and rewarding top places combined with final kills. With prefixes I also agree with what LukaG said.

There's one think I'm little bit unsure and thats free vote every level. I think it should be more rare like every 3-5 levels. I think it's enough for "taster".

But in summary I agree and hope that exp on CC will get some more attention soon.

yeah thinking about it with regards to the free vote every level is a bit too often imo. Maybe once every three? just considering once every five would be a bit too rare, as if you think about how many games have to be played to level up 5 levels, for a vote for only 1 game.

Well one per theree levels will be pretty balanced option then.
