I prefer money, since it's more flexible than a gift that I'm probably not going to use. If you get me money, I'll be able to spend it on things that'll make me happy. I'm a very boring person, so very little actually interests me. Seriously, good luck buying me a gift that I'll actually love, because I'm the most boring person I know.
Oh, but gift cards =/= money. There's a negative stigma to giving ordinary money as a gift, and there really shouldn't be. A gift card is just a chosen amount of money that's limited to only select stores, and can expire. Also, I always get anxiety when using them. Like, what if there's not enough money on it? There isn't a digital screen on the card displaying how much it's actually worth, and I'm too shy to ask a salesperson before shopping. So I'd honestly rather just not use the thing and let it expire, rather than risk trying to buy something and not having enough on the card. If you're going to get me a gift card, just give me money instead pls :x
