Earning Temporary Ranks

Still its gives you the same perks as Ranks even though its for a limited time only it gives players who haven't donated a huge disadvantage...(voting/chat colors/vanity) and makes Cube basicaly Pay2Win and that's against the EULA...

Example: Lets say you bought a Iron Rank with some points... That means Ranks are achivable with In-Game currency for a limited time only...
Then someone donates... Well that means he gets the same perks as you but then forever and without spending any points... So technically he bought Points to buy the Limited time Rank.... Meaning Pay2Win (Against EULA)

It would be fine if the Limited time Ranks would be bought for 25% of a Real Rank with 10 days test time... And you can only be bought once... But that's just my opinion.

Pay2win means the donor gets an unfair advantage. There's no unfair advantage there as long as the temporary rank is not given any vanity at all.

To OP: Maybe instead of having multiple temporary ranks, just have a single temporary rank called "Chain (Trial rank)" It just gives a name and limited voting options for a few hours, nothing else.

If it's possible to code in temporary cosmetics, then sure. The trial rank is designed for unranked players to see if they want to buy a real rank, similar to RuneScape's take on P2P membership, including but not limited to for example, buying 2-week membership with in-game money and up to level 5 member skills.

Coal/chain (name can be anything) would not have any extra cosmetics or maybe some random donor ones unlocked temporarily until the rank expires. Once the rank expires, the temporary cosmetics disappear. If we're talking about in-game cost, then I'm not sure. I easily got 30k+ points from 2x SG (equivalent to 20k without 2x bonus), so definitely higher than this.

There's NO way you can lose your rank. Also, players would have to have hard evidence to prove they "lost" their cosmetics. This is also why the devs should test this idea several times before releasing it, just in case.

How this works:

When the player purchases the trial rank, they are told what cosmetics they temporarily unlocked. For example, the JoeHenry hat is exclusive to iron+ only. This hat is randomly selected as one of the few trial cosmetics. When the rank is about to expire, the user gets a warning saying, "Your rank is about to expire along with your trial cosmetics. Thank you for trying out our trial rank."

I haven't read every comment but if this would be implented, it shouldn't be a cheap feature and it should only be possible to "purchase" a temporary rank once.

I like the idea, however it does seem a little rough around the edges. Considering easy-point farming gamemodes like Skyblock is coming out, points will be a lot easier to get (throwback to the time when @TlmeLord had 200k points, lol).

On this rate, Skyblock will come out early summer 2018, so don't worry about people farming points. :P

You don't know when it will be released though. It might release tomorrow, it might release a couple of months from now. Us, as members, have no idea on when gamemodes are coming out, so it's not in our right to judge them for "developing nothing" when we don't know.

But I can assure you that it won't take that long. :)

SkyBlock was nerfed last time it was out so it won't be a point-farming game. Doubt if it is to come out it will have points at all.

Pretty sure I have that much now... Would have had 300-400k if I didn't have my points bug out on me twice back in the day :'-)

My thoughts exactly. People will just continuously grind for points and keep buying the temporary rank. It should be so you may only test out the rank once.

Either way, I still don't like this idea. It just seems like it would cause a lot of chaos for stones and Donors alike.

Nice idea, I think this would be fair for people who can't afford the ranks or just don't want to spend money on this. Plus, it's another good way to keep people playing!
