Web Edit profile posts.

Hey everyone, here I am again with another suggestion-thread. This time it’s a suggestion about the forums, a little addition what makes the forums more enjoyable!


My suggestion is to allow players to edit a profile post. The only thing we can do now is delete a profile post: https://imgur.com/gallery/SFYQ4nS?s=wa I also think people wants to be able to edit profile posts because of misspelling, this happens very often to me and if it happens you have to remove your message and rewrite it, this is very annoying. (Don’t forget to vote in the poll.)

This has been discussed like a million times. Staff members don't want to implement this suggestion because members can say bad things in their profile posts and then edit them, as far as I know.

If this was the case, then make a log of everything that was edited or deleted. I am pretty sure staff can see deleted posts, so it can just work the same for editing. I once had an issue with a user that deleted inappropriate things, and if people were to abuse the edit option if it was added, staff can just check the logs if someone were to report it.
I honestly wouldn't mind an edit option for profile posts. It is kind of annoying to delete posts and retype them if you do end up making a mistake.

Players can edit suggestion-threads, they can swear in them too and edit them after they swore, so why aren’t we allowed to edit profile posts then? This is not a good argument, if you could be more specific about why you disagree with this suggestion I would appreciate it.

The edit history of replies on threads, I meant. I don't know about profile posts, seems like they can't.

Maybe now you do try to give good arguments but when I first replied on your thread, there were no arguments at all. It was just the same as many other suggestions

That's what I do, I respond to people's reactions and try to give my opinion where necessary. I'm not just going to start an argument in my thread itself.

Maybe you should be able to edit the latest comment you replied to, for 1 minute? I think people wants to be able to edit profile posts bc of misspelling (me included). Example: you type "i like cosw" instead of "i like cows". You're able to edit the post for one minute

Everything you edit is logged by default,
And staff can see deleted items yes.

They can compare versions and see changes made.
Profile posts don't, (as far as I know)

To be honest I don't really like that.. 1 minute is way to short. Maybe you didn't notice it or just made a grammar mistake and someone points it out
