Hypixel copied the EggWars/BedWars idea from CubeCraft (BW existed before in GommeHD, but CubeCraft made EW/BW idea as popular as it is today ;) ). CCGN's EggWars was released in June 2015, while Hypickle's BedWars (aka RipoffWars) was released in June 2017.

Well hypickels bed wars is more "popular" than egg wars now, and its the same thing cubecraft took egg wars from bed wars and modified it and made it better, same with hypixel they made it "better" and changed stuff and now its the popular eggwars/bedwars.

Like I've said before, you can't ignore facts (like GommeHD bedwars) just because it's convenient. Why is it wrong for hypixel to copy another server, but not wrong for cubecraft to do it?

Time to insert mu'self into this.
Copying maps is not punishable to anyone unless you somehow copyright them, and I can't think of a reason you would do that for PVP intended maps. Yeah, Cubecraft is starting to, I wouldn't say copy, but mimic Bedwars' design. But even then, old maps still exist and are playable.
