For some reason whenever I try to download a 1.8 Forge from the website , it only includes the .json, not the .jar, meaning I can't run it. Any way to fix this. (Note that this problem did not use to happen).

And yes, it does have to be 1.8, because I'm trying to use WorldEdit.


EDIT: This is more of a "failed to launch" thing.

Didn't work. Still doesn't install jar.

There is no jar you get after running the installer. Run the installer, press install. Press Win-key + "R" and type %appdata% then go to .minecraft then mods, if there isn't one make one named mods all lowercase, and put the WorldEdit Jar file in there. Then run the Minecraft launcher and go to your profiles and click the one called forge Should look like this:

If that profile isn't in the dropdown, make a new profile, name it forge, then go to edit profile find use version, select your forge version 1.8.x

Then launch your game :D

OMG IT ACTUALLY WORKS!

Before, it didn't actually work (whenever I press play, the loading bar would fill up but then nothing would happen...). It'd just take some time to open :p.

PS: Why does Forge 1.9 or 1.6.4 contain jars?

Well that's great to hear it works :D And I have no clue about the 1.9/1.6.4, I'm pretty sure you must have downloaded a different version, maybe you chose a different install option or something wacky like that, anyway glad to hear I helped ya! You are very welcome xD

Nah, I tried the 1.9 version as soon as I noticed 1.8 didn't have jar :P.
