a jar of dirt.
So I believe we should have permission to be able to delete our own posts.
It's obvious why. You might mess up in a post and want to edit it, or you might want to just remove it.

EDIT - This also goes for profile posts with the editing/deleting.

You can always report your post and request it to be removed. Though, I'm unsure if it's the same case here.

If you make a mistake, you can always edit your thread :p

This Was Suggested Before and pretty sure it was denied
also there is no need to bump your post again after 10 minutes be patient

Back to the idea i say it should not be added, if you want to undo a post you can always ask a helper+ to lock the thread for you if you don't want any more replies, of course anyone will be able to see the posts after the lock but cannot reply to it (only helper+ can), its okay you will always atleast suggest something that is bad but "everyone learns through their mistakes" and "nobody's perfect"

I cannot delete ANYTHING unless it's on my own profile
So what @hgbf means is if you are getting into an argument with someone on the forums and are on the losing side you may just delete your post before others can respond. Also you could delete a bug report or player report for some reason before a staff member sees it.

You should always proofread before submitting to avoid making as much errors.
In my opinion, the whole forum can be viewed as an archive section.

Like for example, someone makes a suggestion but it attracted bad reviews, another player made the same suggestion not knowingly that someone has already made it. It would be easy to redirect him to the earlier thread as opinions on why it shouldn't be implemented or why it should, is all stated there and saves time instead of writing it all out again.
If this suggestions were to be added, the player who got bad reviews may feel ashamed and embarrassed causing him to delete the thread, it would make it harder for others who want to search up whether this and that thread has been made before or should he start one and the viewers would have to then again voice out what they agree and disagree.

Another view would be, some players read some good points on a thread with bad reviews for example, and wants to bring up the good points in a similar suggested thread, spend a few minutes to find but the thread no longer exists.
There are many other situations such as abuse/exploit (stated above)

One of them would be :
I decide to report some players and didn't realize I had my hacks on because it's just natural for my hacks to be on (I don't have hacks, js) and so, being staff, we ban the recorder with proof as well since hacker reporting hacker. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and by chance we forgot to link the evidence, he could just delete it and say we abused our powers.
Well it's different if we can view deleted post but still, there are more cons.

Another one would be :
Someone said : I love this server, not hate it.
A player could quote, edit and post it on another thread with threatening words, linked them the thread he said it on and deleted the thread so people would "assume" he did.
Well that wasn't a good example but.. you get it.. I hope.

Too many cons on this idea. It's not bad to receive negative feedback. You just know what to consider and what not to put into future posts.

You just joined today so why do you want to get this added? Not necessary in my opinion :D
