You should always proofread before submitting to avoid making as much errors.
In my opinion, the whole forum can be viewed as an archive section.
Like for
example, someone makes a suggestion but it attracted bad reviews, another player made the same suggestion not knowingly that someone has already made it. It would be easy to redirect him to the earlier thread as opinions on why it shouldn't be implemented or why it should, is all stated there and saves time instead of writing it all out again.
If this suggestions were to be added, the player who got bad reviews may feel ashamed and embarrassed causing him to delete the thread, it would make it harder for others who want to search up whether this and that thread has been made before or should he start one and the viewers would have to then again voice out what they agree and disagree.
Another view would be, some players read some good points on a thread with bad reviews for example, and wants to bring up the good points in a similar suggested thread, spend a few minutes to find but the thread no longer exists.
There are many other situations such as abuse/exploit (
stated above)
One of them would be :
I decide to report some players and didn't realize I had my hacks on because it's just natural for my hacks to be on (
I don't have hacks, js) and so, being staff, we ban the recorder with proof as well since hacker reporting hacker. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and by chance we forgot to link the evidence, he could just delete it and say we abused our powers.
Well it's different if we can view deleted post but still, there are more cons.
Another one would be :
Someone said : I love this server, not hate it.
A player could quote, edit and post it on another thread with threatening words, linked them the thread he said it on and deleted the thread so people would "assume" he did.
Well that wasn't a good example but.. you get it.. I hope.
