Bedrock Frustrating problem with villagers in Eggwars

In Eggwars, it doesn’t let you buy things if you’re holding any kind of food. It was possible before but not now after the update. Is this intentional feature?

I kind of understood why I couldn’t buy when holding a sword, but now same thing with food just doesn’t make sense. It is natural for many players to eat a golden apple or smth right before going to villager. This is very frustrating especially mid fights when the opponent is chasing you and you need to buy stuff quickly. This needs to be fixed.

(Matter of fact, I think this feature needs to be completely removed. It is just stupid that we actually need to think about what item are we holding before going to villager)

I feel like it should be a feature. Imagine trying to eat a golden apple with 3hearts left but you just so happen to be next to the shop. The shop opens & you end up dying. That's more annoying.

For your case, you can just switch slots (I mean, it takes less than a second). Unless if all your nine slots are filled with weapons and food...

I also find this feature very frustrating, though I understand it’s meant to prevent accidental shop interactions when using items like food.

A good solution could be allowing shops to open with left clicks while holding food, since you can’t eat with left clicking and this way your still able to open the shop while holding food.

My concern is how these restrictions keep expanding, first tools, now food,
What’s next, blocks? If this continues, we’ll have no free slots to open a shop lol

Heya,

As a little context, we get/got a TON of (bug) reports of users that the feature either didn't work. Or should work, because they died because of it, etc. bla bla bla you get the gist.

We first changed it to not allow any interaction while holding weapons, or food.

We've since changed it a bit more, such that it won't allow you to open the shop with weapons if you're hitting with them. And with food if you're trying to eat them. Vice versa will work, except if you're on touch, cause those are kinda funky that way. This change will go out with the EggWars update.

Keep in mind that it cancel the interaction, so if you're eating you'll have to move away from the shops' hitbox to continue eating. Which a lot better than entering the shop, and having to move.


Hopefully this is a solution you're happy with. If it's not, I suppose you better start learning how to use hotkeys
