Builds Garden - Eggwars Map

Hi everyone,

This is my new eggwars map, called Garden. In this map I tried to find a good balance between aesthetics and gameplay, that's why this map might not look as good as, for example, my previous map called Mushrooms. In which I payed more attention to aesthetics instead of gameplay.

I made 2 sections on this map: a flat area (the grass and the pond, the biggest area) and an area with more hills and obstacles (the area with the plants, smaller area). I did this to improve the gameplay for players who like to play on open, flat areas, but also keep some space for players who prefer a more challenging landscape.

Map description:
Every team's island has 1 iron generator, 1 gold generator and 1 diamond generator. The middle island has 2 iron generators, 4 gold generators (2 of a low level), and 2 diamond generators (both of level 3 I'd say).
The islands are 2x17 blocks away from each other (with a small island in between), and they are 36-38 blocks away from the middle island.

I would add more "leaves" to the trees and move all eggs so they're not in the center. Flowers are pretty cool, so as the bridge and lilypads. Good job overall! :)

I tried to not make the trees to big, as @Efcluke94 told me that I shouldn't make very large trees like in my previous map, because that will encourage campers to climb them and camp in them. (as I said, I focussed a lot more on gameplay instead of aesthetics this time ;))

Hey am glad you took on a lot of advice and focused on the gameplay. It's definitely your best map submission so far, there is still just a couple of things you need to change though, as you've made the same mistakes which builders often do when they first start.

You're still relying on //replace for detailing of the islands. I can show you a few examples of what would look far better.

You can actually see thought has gone into the detailing of the top. Using overlay brushes, making it look smoother, cleaner much more pleasing to the eye.

Now @TeovoTeovo also made the similar mistake as you when he first started.

It looks so much nicer and smoother. It's a little change but it can go a long way so you're eyes don't get too distracted from the hectic floor.

Also in agreement with Teo about the trees, the trees could look a little more realistic, bushier. Few last changes you could add, is a butterfly or a bee, near mid in the air (Not too high). Just to make it look a bit nicer. And you need to identify what island is which, players don't know which team is yellow because the islands are all so colourful and bright. So you will need to think of a way to fix that. All that being said, it's definitely your best map submission, I love the flowers on the lilys, such a nice touch with the detail. A really bright and creative map which are my favourite kind. Just need to make a few changes here and there. Also improve the water, by adding blue wool or something under the glass (Just saw the default pic as I posted this so edited that in).

I really like the pink trees on the islands and it all looks so colourful. There's also enough room for pvp on the middle (the flat area) and I think that's the best kind of gameplay. Aaand I hope you become a builder (soon) :)
