'Gay' Isn't a Swear Word.

So, as I am a gay person, I would obviously like to say 'gay' on chat if people ask, or if I need to. It's marked as a swear word and I cannot say it. Let me just say- yes.. people still use it in a negative way, but it's not a bad word itself. It's derogatory... It's not mean to say, it's not offensive to people at all... If a person told me "You're so gay omfg" I would take that as a complement, because they're correct. It's just like going up to a straight person and saying to their face "You're straight." This is 2014. Gay people keep coming out and out and out and out every minute. Get use to it.

So I've come to my conclusion, I would like this word to be unbanned, unless it's being used out of context.
For Example;
Correct use; Gay people are my saviors.
Incorrect use; This server is so gaay!!

See the difference? I think the word gay should be unbanned, but you're still eligible to get muted for using it incorrectly multiple times.

I said the same thing about Jew and Jewish. Halo's already said it's to prevent anti-Semitic/homophobic chat, but it does end up oppressing people of certain faiths and sexualities. It's a necessary evil, apparently.

Of course there is nothing bad about being homosexual. But most of the people use the word "gay" as a negative one. To insult/offend people. That´s why it´s forbidden to use.

One thing I hate most. people making fun of homosexual people. Let others live their lives to their fullest extent. It's none of your business to criticize them, matter of fact you shouldn't criticize anyone. It's not your life, so leave them be.

I also agree with you Kade, but I don't.
Why I do agree: Everyone should have the right to say and express who and what they are. Or to simply answer a question.
Why I do not agree: As Sarah said before, many, many people use the word "gay" to offend someone. I barely see it used appropriately.

i agree with kade, the word "gay" should be able to be used, but there is also the people who will take it to there advantage, and use it in a negative context. there isn't anyway to stop them from saying gay in a negative way, but the positives might end up overcoming the negatives. it's just a fact of life that people are going to use words incorrectly and offensively, and the masking of gay and other words happens frequently... I know that there is the reasons of making it this way, but if it was unblocked, monitoring the chat and making sure ut is not used in a negative context could help??? I'm not sure...just thinking of ideas...im confusing myself already xD

I agree. And I think that if it were to be unblocked if someone used it in the wrong fashion it should just be a instant perm mute.
