Getting muted

I think that there should be two stages in being muted.
1: you are muted from the public chat but you can still message players privately (/tell¨player¨ ¨message¨). This would only be applied when the reason for getting muted isn't so bad. but then if the player keeps abusing his/her privileges and gets reported again, they would move on to stage 2.
2: It would be like the mute punishment is right now : being that you cannot send messages publicly or privately. this would be applied when the reason for getting muted is more severe or that you are muted to stage #1 and you still spam or use bad language or whatever the reason is.
I randomly thought of this idea because I am currently muted for spamming(not such a bad reason) and it is not fun not being able to speak to my friends on skyblock or make trades with otheres for things I need. having the 2 stages would make it less of a punishment and with stage #1 you could still speak with your friends without annoying everyone on the chat with spams and/or bad language.

Well, most people that play don't have a forums account and wouldn't report people if they were abusing it and it would be easy to abuse it to the right people so you don't get muted. I don't really like this idea, but that's my opinion.

Sorry but it just doesn't seem the best they should just be perm muted until unmuted.

Spamming is actually that bad. It's like, the reasons why skin comps, and heads shops ect. Are banned.

I don't like how people can still use private messages as spammers usually spam wherever they can, so once they are muted by public chat, they will just target people to spam by /msg..

I can see muted players spamming Admins, mods, or even other players asking them to unmute them, or start raging yanno? Not a good idea, and not a pretty scene. I vote no, stick with the default mute.
