Note that this isn't a bug, rather a suggestion to replace something that currently drastically changes the game.
So, as we all know 1.8 mode removed the cooldown and fixed the damages. Due to the low inflation rates of pickaxes, this has actually made them a much better purchase than swords.
As you can see, the 5 attack damage tools are a wood sword and an iron pickaxe. 32 iron and 5 gold may seem balanced, but it's not. Pickaxes drain armor faster, mine blocks faster, and in all essence 5 gold can be scooped up on a level 1 gold gen, but 32 iron can't on a level 1 iron gen. You also need to get blocks, so the pickaxe is almost always the better move.
The stone sword and the diamond pickaxe is even worse. It is undisputable that the pickaxe is cheaper, and it has the same advantages listed above amplified.
The Suggestion: In ONLY 1.8 mode, drop the prices of the swords so pickaxes aren't the only worthwhile weapon.
