I've been playing a bit of Infected lately and I personally must say I enjoy playing the game as infected while hunting down humans, although there is one reason why I see infected often ragequit before the game even started.

Want to know why that is? Have a look.

Just because there is one kit who has acces to enderpearls does not mean this problem is just magicly fixed.
I mean I lately read a post from Rubik where he told the build-limit was increased to ''prevent'' (no offence) skybasing.

But as you can CLEARLY SEE, it has not worked a tiny bit... and these screenshots are from just FIVE GAMES OUT OF THE FIVE I JUST PLAYED. Every game I'm guaranteed to encounter skybases discouraging me from even trying as Infected.

How to fix? Well it's honestly really easy... The max building limit should be increased to the top of the tiki-hut roof.
Why there? There is literally no reason why you should have to get above the hut so this will not ruin gameplay but rather improve.

That ^^^^^^ Later,

P.s. whenever spawning as infected you first need to swim to the main island for a few seconds wich is just really annoying. You respawned, ready to fight again! Nop. You need to waste a couple of second just to be able to reach the island. Just adding a couple small bridges allowing Infected to reach the island more easily would be very appreciated. Apart from that and skybasing it's a fun game and all

Can confirm that if you get infected, the game is not worth playing.

A few other changes that might help:
-Have all survivors identified earlier, say, two minutes before the end of the game
-In compensation, buff the survivors / nerf the infected
-Heavily buff the infected's pickaxes and the number of blocks they spawn with. This will stop most underground/sky camping

Ayayauay can we not severely decrease the build height? I like making towers i havent played yet though therr should be nothing wrong with making fortresses . Decrease the build height drastically but not to near ground levels

Byw when i say fortresses i dont mean skybases. I mean fort like structures

I totally understand this suggestion as it's a huge problem, the skybasers, so I certainly support this idea. The new games should be fun to play, not with skybasers who ruin the entire game.

Ever heard of enderman kit????
No this isn't that hard to counter if your good at strafing and ender pearling

Ever heard of reading before you post?

P.s. What in the flipping world does strafing have to do with skybasing ??!?

A skeleton kit would counter a lot of the sky basing in infected just give it a slow draw speed and an infinity bow to resemble a normal skeleton in vanilla.
I'm confused now, are skybases a problem or can you just strafe them and w-tap them with an enderpearl?

I'm not sure what the current build limit is, but I agree, there should be no reason to build as high as the people in some of the screenshots.

I assume everyone knows that you strafe by repeatedly pressing and releasing w while you fight. Recent studies have shown that w-tapping also increases the distance you can hit your enemies at. So, if you w-tap fast enough - or in other words, strafe hard enough - you should be able to kick them off their pillars while you are standing on the ground or even chilling inside the tiki-hut enjoying a cool drink.

I do believe that sky basing is against the rules for infection, yet I could be wrong. Keep in mind that this is still a beta game released just a few days ago. There will be problems, keep that in mind, but what game that has been released for less than a week doesn't. The best thing we can do is to report bugs and make suggestions so that staff can make the game more enjoyable! Thanks for adding your suggestion! PS: I do agree that the building limit should be put lower, but they can not add it immediately. ;P

There isn't an ''Infected Skybase-specific'' rule as far as I know. Even if there would be a rule like that they should have no reason to allow it by not adding a building-limit in the first place.

The only Skybasing-rule there is is when you (example) build a skywars fortress up in the air, surround with lava making it unreachable. With Infected having acces to the custom-enderpearls, it's still accesable, wich means the rule most likely won't count.

The rules say
No Camping/Skybasing
Camping refers to intentionally isolating yourself from your opponent to force a game into a stalemate. Skybasing is a form of camping in which you make a base high in the sky out of reach of most players.
Skybasing is a form of camping. Camping means forcing a game into a stalemate (other than the common use of that word). If a game has a timer, such as duels, it is impossible to cause a stalemate (source: attached image). Therefore it is impossible to camp and in turn impossible to skybase. Skybasing in this game doesn not exist by definition, according to the rules.

I'm sorry, I'll stop with my low efford replies to this thread.

I realy like this idea. Infected became one of my favourite games but like you told skybasing sucks. I know that some of you are going to say yes and what about the enderman kit. Some people are skybasing up so that they are standing into a corner so that no one can hit you from above/under/left/right but they can only hit you from the front. So if you trow an enderpearl towards them they will just hit you and you will fall down. You can't hit them of because they are in the corner of a tree. I have had a lot of games where the humans just win from skybasing into a tree.

Sky basing is not allowed in this game mode so if they were to sky base you are able to tell them in chat that it is not allowed and if they don't you can report them :) Like other staff members said, "You are not allowed to skybase in infection and you can warn them in chat and then report them" But they should still give us the option to combat it so I agree with this. Goodluck and have a good day :)

You're right, and if they not skybase, they hide underground, this game sucks, another failed try from cubecraft :/
Well it's not THAT BAD imo, the main problem right now are the hiders / skybasers although the underground hiders aren't that common usually whenever I play.
And even if you do have a hider it's not 100% impossible to spot them as they have to replace the block they mined to hide with another block (example cobble).

If I see a stone wall with mined ores and 2 cobblestone it's enough to let me suspect someone hiding behind there.

It's impossible if they hide 10 blocks underground, at the very edge of the map, and then you have one minute left to find them (thats when the glowing effect starts)
