Hello CubeCrafters!
Last week, we introduced TNT Trouble, the first in a series of three new BETA games that make up the ISLAND GAMES trilogy! Today, we're really excited to announce the second game of the series, called INFECTION. We've been giving you some sneak peaks over the past few days on Twitter, and now it's time to show you more.
The first INFECTION map!
What is INFECTION & How To Play!
Infection is a simple, yet highly fun game. You join the game, and once the game starts your fate is chosen. Are you human, or are you infected? You either have to infect or survive! Gameplay has been balanced so that the games will always last all the way to the last seconds!
Let the battles commence.
If you start as a human...
Your goal is to survive as long as possible. The infected are coming for you, and if an infected kills you, you'll respawn but you'll be infected! You'll then join the infected team and your goal will change to attack the remaining humans and infect every single one of them.
If you start as an infected...
Your goal is to infect the humans. Chase them, bite them, kill them! Once you've killed a human, they too become infected and can help you in the cause. You can work together to corner humans, and take them out. If you manage to infect all of the humans, you'll win. If you miss even one human, the humans will win the game!
Will you be a human, or will you be an infected?
Classes & Buffs...
Classes
If you're an infected, you get to pick a class which will help you with your assault on the humans. When you die you can click the message in chat to change your kit, or use the /kit command. The classes you can choose are below.

Over the course of the game, players will be assisted with buffs. These will change depending on how the teams are doing. Buffs are balanced to help the teams accordingly. Both humans and Infected will receive buffs - and human players can access mythical chests that will provide a set of random items!
A few infected buff examples are...
Speed - Players will move faster.
Fire Resistance - Players will be resistant to fire.
Absorption - Players will spawn in with added protection.
No effect - No effect.
Human Finder - Human players will only glow for this infected player (will be swapped out for Absorption when there is only a minute left and humans are revealed to all infected).
Regeneration - Health will regen.
Resistance - Extra damage protection.
Strength - Increased melee damage.
What does BETA mean?
You may notice that the game shows as being in BETA. This means that the game may have major changes made to it without any notice being given. We're going to be constantly working on all three of the Island Games, taking your thoughts into consideration. We're welcoming all feedback on our forums and will be listening to your feedback for changes you'd like to see. Feel free to put your feedback here.
We hope you enjoy the game!
