Java Is bow spamming cringe?

What is the point of trying to get good at combat, timing your hits, getting crits, and obtaining decent gear if anyone can just spam their mouse button with a punch bow in hand and knock you into the void. Seriously, is everyone ok with this kind of combat? Am I alone in my suffering of this?

It may be a tactic, but I think it’s annoying. I already wanted to suggest something like having a cooldown on the bow for 5 seconds like in Lucky Islands. It happens too often that I play a long game and I just get bowspammed at the end. Punch bows are just too OP.

I won’t be voting on the poll since it’s neither. Sometimes using a bow is the best thing you can do. In skywars, Cube doesn’t like me I never get good stuff, not a full set of armour in basic 15 blocks in total. Think you were unlucky that one time. Well I always play with that. :)
When someone with way better gear than you is on a bridge, you shoot them. No question asked! It might be annoying, but in lucky block you cary a shield somewhere in your hotbar, in Eggwars you or have a pearl when your Egg is already gone or make a big bridge when your egg is still there. In Skywars you also carry a shield. Bow aren’t too OP when you’re ready for them!
And to answer your question, getting good in combat isn’t only being good with a sword, knowing when to run, shooting a bow, making sure you don’t get shot with a bow and knowing where other players are is all part of it.
If you’re not good at one of those things, you try not to have to do it.

bow is also a form of combat maybe instead of getting good doing crits and other gymnastics practice holding down right click with a shield

I advice you to play other games like Duals or FFA if it's your intention to train your pvp skills. Skywars, Eggwars and Lucky Islands are not really combat games in my opinion, but more tactic and strategy games. Like others already said above, bows are used as a form of tactic and also to annoy you. That's part of the game.

So like I said, train your pvp skills elswhere. Training your pvp skills at Skywars, Eggwars or Lucky Islands will only annoy you more and it will take longer to master your pvp skills.

Yes, bowspamming is definitely cringe. But just using a bow when someone is building a bridge is etc... is ok.

Bow spamming is a tactic it's not just spamming your mouse you also have to aim and actually hit the other player. I've played against a lot of bow spammers where you can just juke them from left to right and kill them easily.

In my opinion, it depends on the items voted. I mean, a bow is gonna do a lot less damage in overpowered. That’s when it just gets irritating.

Bowspamming is an excellent tactic.
Also what you are saying is wrong, getting good at combat is also very overpowered. If you are a superior pvper than your opponent, all you really have to do is be careful not to get bowspammed off and your pvp skill should win the fight.
I'm pretty sure you can build walls around yourself to stop getting shot off in most team maps (with the exception being the truly disgusting 2 player maps, what a disgrace they are). Solo eggwars is different because the islands are generally tiny, but once again, simply placing blocks around you will do the trick.

To summarise; stop playing the game like its FFA, this is eggwars so it actually requires skill. Peace.

bowspamming is very cringe but very effective. I personally think its a great strat for people who are not as experienced in sword pvp or are very underpowered compaired to their opponent as it can save them in an otherwise game ending situation
