There is a leaderboard, but is hidden in profile.
Profile > game statistics > game > game variant (if any) > view leaderboard of x

There is a leaderboard in the social menu button or if you right click someone
If you are talking about visual leaderboards in the lobby then I would say yes that sounds like a cool idea
