this may be the weirdest idea i have thought of but as we know on other crops, if we use fortune we can get more of the crop drops but on melons we get the individual melon slices. however if we use silk touch we get the block. i think we should be able to add fortune AND silk touch to an axe and it would drop the block of melon but also adding the chance to drop more than one block
