I've been working on some guides and suggestions for some of my favorite games on the server and this is one for Minerware that I managed to finish. I've made some visual representations for some that may be hard to grasp, that you may not understand fully to help out. Feedback is welcome as usual, that's what forums are for. I'm looking for flaws in my ideas.

Minigame 1:
Punch-A-Pal

Objective:
The screen reads "Punch <Player>!" now the objective of everybody in order to win is to punch the randomly selected player, if they do, they get a point. However the player selected gets a point regardless, their main goal is to run away from people or punch them away so that as little people as possible get points. Everyone can punch each other for this reason, there could also be a randomly generated structure so it acts as a game of hide and seek too, a really short one though, maybe 10 seconds or so.

Minigame 2:
Lumber!

Objective:
Many trees are spawned on the platform, all players must try to gather as much wood as possible. Players can hit each other and place blocks to make the minigame harder. Dedicated players can nerd pole to reach higher areas where they are the only person accessing that wood so they can get more. This is risky and can cost them the win.

HhGprVj.png

Minigame 3:
Escape!

Objective:
A randomly generated maze (builders could create up to 20 mazes and they are randomly chosen and placed) is placed onto the platform and everyone has 30 seconds to fine their way through to the other end. The red is the start and the green is the finish.

q5KyNlC.png

Minigame 4:
Count!

Objective:
A fenced off area is generated on the center of the platform and a random number of mobs are placed in it, you can mix it up with different mobs to make it harder and the player must correctly enter the number of mobs in chat. They get 3 attempts and 10 seconds before they lose.

0N1U7BP.png

Minigame 5:
Take Order!

Objective:
A villager appears and the chat reads a random variety of food, you must trade the correct food from your inventory with him.

Minigame 6:
Shoot <wool_colour>!

Objective:
A wall of completely random wool colours is generated, the colour that is randomly shown to each player at the start (also shown in chat in case someone missed it) is somewhere on the wall. The player must use their bow and shoot the correct colour, they only get one shot, if they miss or shoot the wrong colour. They lose. This relies on bow accuracy and reflexes. You get 8 seconds.

a2aa4bb7-e1d3-41a8-ae10-d009dd8489bb
R2F0efW.png

Minigame 7:
'Kill Them All!' & 'Hide From The Killer!'

Objective:
In a full 12 player game, 6 people are sent to the killer side and 6 to the hider side. A house is randomly generated the hiders must, well- hide. The killers must search the house and kill all the players in order to win. Their sword is a one-hit kill, killers are also automatically teleported to the outside of the structure and hiders start inside, this gives them a somewhat 'grace period' to find their hiding before killers reach them. This minigame should last about 25 seconds. This minigame is kept short by having a 25-second timer, small structures and easy identification to who is who such as killers wearing black leather and hiders wearing white.

Minigame 8:
Replicate!

Objective:
A build is shown in the center, all players must replicate the build to perfection and are given 15 seconds to do it, for this reason builds must be simple and symmetrical. This minigame would be hard to do on a full game because there isn't space. Players could be taken to an off platform area to build in private perhaps.

WqaYmDp.png

Minigame 9:
Fix The Redstone!

Objective:
A broken redstone circuit is shown, the player must fix the redstone so that the contraption works correctly.

KoGKbGJ.png

Minigame 10:
Death Run!

Objective:
Parkour across the lava pool to reach the other side before the timer runs out.

xFlyvmn.png

Minigame 11:
Name Your Wolf, <name>!

Objective:
You are given an anvil and a nametag, only one though. You must name the nametag and right click the wolf to give him his name.

Minigame 12:
Play <music_disc>!

Objective:
Search through a chest to find the specific music disc required and play it in the jukebox.

Boss Minigame 1:
Sail!

Objective:
Essentially just the hoop race but with boats and water, you must race your opponents on a downhill race to the finish line. There are many passing obstacles that could cause you to crash such as logs and such.

Boss Minigame 2:
Keep To The Rhythm!

Objective:
This is just Blockband essentially, but a short 20-second soundtrack, because BlockBand uses actual songs via a website this could be done using noteblocks because it's only a short 20-second jingle.

Suggestion 1:
Add random structures to 'Knock Them Off!' different platform shapes and maps to mix it up. Make it much like Fish Slap, makes the game more exciting.

Suggestion 2:
Add more complicated math problems to 'Solve Equation'

Suggestion 3:
Vanish players when answering questions, this way people don't just choose an answer based on what side everyone else is on.

Suggestion 4:
Make 'Mini-Spleef' more mini, it takes way too long to finish. Make it only have one layer just like classic spleef.

Suggestion 5:
Add shotgun and line shots from Arcade to 'Shoot TNT & Don't Fall'

Suggestion 6:
Change 'King of the Hill' so that the player who spent the most time on the hill wins and not the player that was last on it when the minigame finished, this makes way more sense and is fair because this is how King of the Hill actually works.

Suggestion 7:
Change 'Wait for It' so that it also has a chance to show 'Stay Put!' or something along those lines so that you actually have to wait for it...

Suggestion 8:
Minerware voting options such as 'Fast Mode' or 'Harder Difficulty'

Dang, that's a lot of idea. :p
1. Cool idea! I think the selected person should get speed 1 or 2 so not everyone can catch him and get the point
2. I think this would be nice addition as long as the block mines goes straight into your inventory so no one else has a chance to pick it up.
3. Definitely yes!
4. Not sure on this one. Players getting in front of you or jumping in the pen could get annoying.
5. I like this one! One suggestion is that you would have to prepare it as well. Like if he asked for bread, you would have to craft wheat. If he asked for steak, you would have to cook it (to prevent stealing, you would just click on a furnace with the raw food to instantly cook it, but you would still need to find the item in your inventory)
6. I like this! Maybe make it a bit closer because you do only have one chance to hit it
7. I think this would be cool as a boss game. To decide the winner of hiders (if they survive) they would have noise makers that give points, most points gets first place. If seekers win, most kills gets firat place.
8. Great idea!
9. I don't know on this one, a lot of players do not understand redstone
10. Yes please!!
11. I like it!
12. Another cool one!
Boss game 1. I think this would be fun. +1
Boss game 2. This would be hard for players with lag. Not really a fan of this one
Suggestion 1. This would be nice! They would need to make sure players can't stick themselves in a corner though
Suggestion 2. There have quite a few debates on this. I think harder math problems should be in the harder difficulty suggestion further down, but remain the same in the normal game
Suggestion 3. Definitely
Suggestion 4. 1 or 2 layers. +1
Suggestion 5. Not sure on this. The layers is kinda small already.
Suggestion 6. Yep!
Suggestion 7. Definitely!!
Suggestion 8. I think these would be really cool additions and give ranks something to vote for.

Overall, the ideas and suggestions were great!! :D

Super detailed response, thanks so much, Brownie. :D

1. Cool idea! I think the selected person should get speed 1 or 2 so not everyone can catch him and get the point

Completely agree, very nice addition to my suggestion.

4. Not sure on this one. Players getting in front of you or jumping in the pen could get annoying.

This could be solved with simply vanishing players.

This seems great too, my only precaution with this is that the timer may need to be increased which would take away the 'fast paced' minigame action that Minerware is supposed to have. But other than that it's great.

6. I like this! Maybe make it a bit closer because you do only have one chance to hit it

I think it's the perfect distance, if it was any closer it would be a case of just point and shoot and wouldn't really reflect the mathematical estimate that you normally take when shooting a bow. If it's really that bad then maybe more shots should be added instead of a closer distance.

9. I don't know on this one, a lot of players do not understand redstone

I don't think that most players not being able to understand redstone is an excuse in itself, that's kind of like saying that 'solve equation' should be removed because most people are bad at maths, which is just strange. It could teach people, it'd also give good redstoners (*cough* Yoya) an advantage, because they learned.

Suggestion 8. I think these would be really cool additions and give ranks something to vote for.

Overall, the ideas and suggestions were great!! :D

Absolutely.

Thanks for the response. :D

Everything I don't quote I like anyways and somethings I quote I may still like

Minigame 1:
Punch-A-Pal

I personally don't like how the selected player no matter what gets a point
Also I feel like this would be much better if it was a boss game that way of course mini hide n seek
Minigame 2:
Lumber!

Objective:
Many trees are spawned on the platform, all players must try to gather as much wood as possible. Players can hit each other and place blocks to make the minigame harder. Dedicated players can nerd pole to reach higher areas where they are the only person accessing that wood so they can get more. This is risky and can cost them the win.
this microgame seems hectic as heck... I think the idea is cool maybe but being able to punch players seems a bit much for this...
Minigame 3:
Escape!

Objective:
A randomly generated maze (builders could create up to 20 mazes and they are randomly chosen and placed) is placed onto the platform and everyone has 30 seconds to fine their way through to the other end. The red is the start and the green is the finish.
Make it back into a boss game and Deal is sealed (bring back maze boss game) and of course you did fix the problem with the mazes before since they sometimes couldn't even be completed because they didn't have a path that lead to the end

You get 8 seconds.
the problem with most of these I also have is you give a designated time amount which doesn't work so well because let's imagine for example I was playing pick X flower if it was the first microgame than you'd have longer time than if it was the last microgame since the time spans are different depending on when the microgame is played... (also want to point that out for all of the microgames you have a designated time on) 1 more thing about this microgame... the wall has to be big, really big for 1 reason. Since the maze boss game was removed due to not always having an exit since it was randomly generated this would need to have a lot of space so the likelyhood of your colour spawning is higher but if it was big than sure

This minigame is kept short by having a 25-second timer, small structures and easy identification to who is who such as killers wearing black leather and hiders wearing white.
again I think this would be a good boss game as mini hide n seek
Minigame 8:
Replicate!

Objective:
A build is shown in the center, all players must replicate the build to perfection and are given 15 seconds to do it, for this reason builds must be simple and symmetrical. This minigame would be hard to do on a full game because there isn't space. Players could be taken to an off platform area to build in private perhaps.
I personally don't like this microgame as it wouldn't be that much fun and it would also basically be a copy of mineplex's speed builder which I also didn't find fun
Minigame 9:
Fix The Redstone!

Objective:
A broken redstone circuit is shown, the player must fix the redstone so that the contraption works correctly.
how would this exactly work? would everyone be in a box seperated from eachother so they 1 can't just do what everyone else is doing and 2 have whoever does it first be the only winner since they placed down the redstone that stayed there now
Suggestion 2:
Add more complicated math problems to 'Solve Equation'
still won't fix this games problems and also won't be any harder just saying
Suggestion 5:
Add shotgun and line shots from Arcade to 'Shoot TNT & Don't Fall'
I personally like this boss game the way it is and having the no power up version makes this better in my opinion
Suggestion 6:
Change 'King of the Hill' so that the player who spent the most time on the hill wins and not the player that was last on it when the minigame finished, this makes way more sense and is fair because this is how King of the Hill actually works.
than it just comes down to when the microgame started as I said above microgames at the beginning are longer than the ones at the end...
Suggestion 7:
Change 'Wait for It' so that it also has a chance to show 'Stay Put!' or something along those lines so that you actually have to wait for it...
though I am agreeing with this I just want to put a footnote here you do technically have to wait for it already since if you jump to early and the completion point is closer and you jump to early it sends you back to the top I still however agree with this 1
Suggestion 8:
Minerware voting options such as 'Fast Mode' or 'Harder Difficulty'
harder difficulty aye?
and sure for fast mode

Many people like redstone, it's really not difficult, the little contraption I made is fairly decent. They could make it far more simple.

It's literally just hit the button when the thing pops up, it's not difficult. I also directly said in the post that it's similar to blockband but not the same. The only reason BlockBand is unsuccessful is because it's server-side. Nobody wants to play a server-side rhythm game, imagine playing Guitar Hero with input delay.

Holy moly! Dude these are awesome! I really like the counting one! So simple but yet so ''minerware fitting'' (might have to do with the chickens tho... :P) ! Awesome job!

100% agree with all of these additions.
I just have a few which I dislike/have a few questions about :
Minigame 4:
Count!

Objective:
A fenced off area is generated on the center of the platform and a random number of mobs are placed in it, you can mix it up with different mobs to make it harder and the player must correctly enter the number of mobs in chat. They get 3 attempts and 10 seconds before they lose.

0N1U7BP.png
It would be best if the mobs were larger in size, unable to move, and all players are invisible to prevent others from blocking the view.
Minigame 9:
Fix The Redstone!

Objective:
A broken redstone circuit is shown, the player must fix the redstone so that the contraption works correctly.

KoGKbGJ.png
How does this one work? Only one player can fix it OR every player gets their own one to fix <--- If it is make it so you can't see other players' ones.

Judging by the screenshot you want this to be a long range game which will be annoying for players who may have low render distance. Other than that I am fine with it only if the blocks are not 1x1 since it is really hard to shoot a specific block.
