As stated in the official rules, replying to threads with the latest reply being older then two weeks is not allowed.

5- No Necro-posting. This is replying to threads which haven't been posted on within 2 weeks. They are not allowed to be revived (does not include forum games or news threads).

However, threads are getting locked that are still relevant, such as this thread about a rejoin command. If you search 'rejoin' around five pages of results come up. That number of threads is not necessary, when everyone could reply to one thread instead of making multiple threads on the same topic so idea's are all split up.

This thread was just about why people dislike op mode for eggwars. It's not like it's talking about year old updates that no longer effect the game anymore. In short, loosen up on locking threads, unless they are no longer relevant.

Yea, I thought it would be a good idea if the staff would auto lock the threads after 2 weeks of no replys because if necroposting is so serious then I always thought "what if they just locked the thread?" It is a serious rule, but at the begginning I always thought "why?"

I agree, but I don't think the staff are allowed to actually lock suggestions and such as it's an ongoing conversation between people, otherwise for useless "sentinel ban pls halp" should be looked upon immediately.
I missed reading your well-developed threads, where you been fam?

I habe to disagree with you. We like to see new suggestions so that we can review it everyday. If a thread hasn't gotten a reply in 2weeks it means that people already have replied with their thoughts. It can be that it is a good idea but most of the people reply to good/usefull threads. Most of the threads are mostly suggested before. People who reply on the threads from 2weeks ago are mostly just telling the same thing as the people who replied on the thread before. I say no to this suggestion.

Yes. I think most of the time someone necroposts it's either an accident or the topic is actually still relevant. On threads that nobody posted on for a while, the reply box should have a red background and a warning to prevent people from posting accidentially. Then if people continue to post irellevant stuff on old threads they should be banned or temporarily suspended.

It's really inconvenient to have to spread out a discussion to multiple threads and then not being able to re-read what has been said already.
It also is annoying when you are watching a thread and after more than 2 weeks someone replies and you get a notification. A few minutes later someone calls them out for necroposting and you get another notification. Then a staff member quotes that message and locks the thread giving you another notification.

I agree. The necroposting rule is kind of irrelevant, in my opinion. I get it if they want to lock the thread if someone is complaining if they got banned by Sentinel or something in that general area, but I've also seen threads getting locked when there was an on-going conversation, the thread wasn't two weeks old, and the latest comment was within the hour. There were no requests to lock it by any people or the owner, and there was no conflict, so, I think the necroposting rule should at least be reduced further. It helps reduce some spam, so maybe push it back to three weeks.
