Like Camez said, there cant be an eggwars without an egg.
Maybe there could be bridges connecting everything, and you spawn in full chain with iron sword, and stone pick?
I like the idea of a lightning round, but you need to have an egg.

Also, the shell cracker kit would be soooo OP in 1.8 mode
