You could add little torture pits, campfire like fires, blood (redstone), make it bigger and add some carts&etc.

suggestion: put redstone on the ground it will act as blood, due to it being a pvp arena.

When I said turn the sand into TNT, I didn't mean write kit-pvp. I meant ALL of the sand, since it could be possibly used for a bow spleef or tnt run.

Its way too small to be a kit pvp map, we have a specific design with the dome effect, so they fit in with the rest. With kit pvp you have to cater to all the kit's needs if possible, I see no water, pyro would own, no high places for wizard. Please listen to this bit... could you send me the download, and i'll change it
