I have to say: UHC was disappointing. There's lots of problems with the UHC that were mentioned, and there are still problems that haven't even been touched. I'll list the big ones out and why they need to be changed:
Speed UHC borders.
Why do they exist when you get teleported to death match anyways? They come in just a tad too fast and you'll still be pushed towards the center of the world. There is no point in these things!
Either remove them and keep death match, or keep them instead of death match.
Time limit in Speed UHC.
Why do you get 10 minutes? I know it's supposed to be fast and everything, but players that don't really know what they're doing can barely do anything in those 10 minutes. So far I've managed to get half iron & half diamond gear with a lava and water bucket as my best gear yet. It's quite easy to kill an alex when they only have an iron sword and half iron in the death match.
The Cube UHC isn't what UHC is supposed to be. Custom world gen is cool and all, but it just doesn't work with UHC. You can barely get sugarcane, you can't find villages (as far as I know), Mesas aren't gold mines, Desert temples don't exist, etc. but instead you can get something as overpowered as a gold & iron block right off the bat without even doing anything. This removes so much of the challenge, that it's almost unnecessary to mine in a game.
All of these structures can add so much to the game, but for some reason you decided that they shouldn't exist.
Kits.
It's UHC. Kits don't belong in UHC. UHC is a game where you're supposed to have an open world where you get everything yourself, and not a game where you can get good gear early on without doing anything. Some kits have items that are crafted by other items that you need to get off of monsters, which means that they can just avoid a fight AND STILL get the item.
Normal UHC borders.
Again, as many others have said, they move too fast. You can't have any long competitive games of UHC because of it.
One possible way around it, is to have the border ONLY shift in when a player is killed / has left. You could also use the same border mechanic as Badlion (I think it's from there) where it teleports you to the surface at the edge of the border every time it closes in. This would make borders not as dangerous as they are now, though.
Easy way to fix most of them:
-Add a "Vanilla" mode where you don't have custom world gen, and don't reuse maps.
-Remove the death match for Speed UHC and keep the border there OR remove the border in Speed UHC.
-Just remove the kits. Kits don't belong in UHC.
