To be honest, I don't think people should be labeled as optimist or pessimist.. kinda stupid tbh. Not everyone is going to act this way 24/7. Even the grouchiest and crankiest will always have at least one happy time which takes away from their "pessimist" label. And even the happiest or the ones that look happiest on the outside are secretly breaking down emotionally on the inside. In my opinion optimist and pessimist should just be a state of feeling [ I'm feeling pessimistic or optimistic today, etcetera ], not a characteristic or personality trait. Like, "I'm so optimistic." ... Are you happy and grateful for everything that happens?
Including the bad stuff? Optimist and pessimist just erases certain emotions I feel. If you're optimistic, you can't feel too sad or be deeply depressed because you have to look for the best in every situation. If you're pessimistic you can't be ecstatic or overjoyed because you "
look at life in a negative way".. so on so forth. Every person should have the right to feel how they want to feel.. we're all allowed to be ecstatic and depressed and if we just label someone as "optimistic" or "pessimistic" it just gives the wrong idea to people [ Oh you're optimistic, you can't ACTUALLY sad are you? Cheer up!!! ] I dunno, people shouldn't' be judged like this cause it doesn't really make logical sense, if you ask me. It should be a state and/or feeling, not a characteristic of who you are or a way to describe someone.
