Why? Because most languages require characters that are blocked by the filter.
The result is hundreds, if not thousands, of players who are being discouraged to play on Cubecraft.

Ask yourselves, is this worth it? Is it worth repelling a potentially huge player base just for the sake of one or two rulebreaksers? Cubecraft is literally dying; we cannot afford to have this!

Note: if you vote "no", you MUST explain why!

EDIT: since the reason that characters in certain languages are blocked is because no staff members speak those languages, how about we hire staff that speak different languages?

One huge thing I see is no use of Spanish symbols, which will seriously throw off conversations (which some could find offensive by not having use of proper grammar tools) which could just add rulebreakers.

I just went to CubeCraft, typed in Arabic letters, and nope. No Arabic letters are allowed. We could still use the weird internet slang, but there are some Arabs that struggle with that. My friend is one of them. But then again, it kinda would be annoying to see weird characters in chat that you can't understand. You just never know if it was spam or a normal message.

The red is everything that you just said is wrong. Or is so over exaggerated. I honestly doubt this is the case but tbh a lot of those symbols are blocked for various reasons. Some for spam, protection purposes, or etc.

I voted no.
But If I look back and choose otherwise this is my vote.

Well, there are Chinese only speaking players, and Arabic only speaking players. My friend doesn't know how to even read the simple English numbers, 1, 2 and all those.. Every single thing he has, all the options are in Arabic letters and numbers. This is a few Arabic letters: من
This is an Arabic word. Now try and say it in chat. It won't work, same for Chinese only speaking players. But yeah, there was a small exaggeration in what he said. :p

The red here is everything that was said without considering someone OTHER THAN YOURSELF.

I'm Spanish, so lemme let you consider this: "Feliz Ano Nuevo" VS Feliz Año Nuevo"
The sentence with the accent says "Happy New Year!". The sentence without the accent says "Happy New Anus!".

Another example, "Mono" VS "Moño". "Mono" means Monkey, "Moño" means hair.
Perhaps I complement another Spanish player by saying "Nice hair on your skin" in spanish. Because Cubecraft doesn't want spammers and whatever I would have to tell that Spanish player, "Nice Monkey on your skin".
See the difference yet?

Honestly, I think this is a little over exaggerated. I'm not entirely convinced by the "hundreds if not thousands" comment.
I agree this can be an inconvenience, especially for players that are unfamiliar with English, but I don't think that disqualifying. I think Cubecraft has actually done a pretty good job in expanding it's language range to accommodate players from all ethnic backgrounds, and provides a other platforms (i.e. Teamspeak and Discord) where players can converse that way.
Does it completely ruin Cubecraft? Well... I don't think so. I think that the games can be fun enough to draw in players regardless of what language they speak. Although it definitely does hinder the overall experience, I don't think it's severe enough to the degree that the team should be focusing on this issue. If anything, the younger English base may be warded off if the chat was full of different languages (I'm not against diversity at all, but since they constitute such a large proportion of the playerbase, this should be noted).
I absolutely understand some of the grievances of these communities where it can be difficult to communicate as shown above, but there are some problems with allowing this on the server, and should be addressed in the OP instead of saying "this is a no brainer and everyone that disagrees is wrong".

yikes this post was very Eurocentric I am very wrong here

I voted no also. As stated above, they were blocked because of spam, using the characters to bypass the chat filters, and so on. I'm sorry that you, your friends, and every other non-English speaking player are having trouble, but it is serving a purpose.

Just felt like throwing that out there. I feel as if it has a rather big impact on current events more than people realize.
What impact does it have on current events? If anything it should have encouraged Cubecraft to be more open to players worldwide. It shouldn't matter what Cubecraft's policy has been in the past, and I think that expanding it's language options was a great decision.

Seriously, blocked for spam? Blocking charters because of "spam" is pointless. People will just spam English characters, and devs will have to block that.

If Cubecraft wanted ONLY English players they wouldn't have made it a public server and would've have as much players.
It was just a fact. If you have such a big problem with the statement, just disregard it. It wasn't even the base of my argument.

Players are going to find ways around the chat filter whether you shut out languages or not.

People rarely use special characters to bypass the chat filter.

Let's say you were trying to cuss and the chat filter catches you. Do you go "oh, I should bypass the filter using special characters"? No, you modify the word, like omitting or adding extra letters, to get it through the filter. Keeping players from using different languages prevents nothing.

I find it interesting that large servers like Hypixel allow special characters in chat, but smaller servers like ours don't. Your fears are unwarranted. If people using special characters to bypass the filter was big a problem, then Hypixel would've also blocked special characters but they didn't. That's saying something.

Even if you could type in Arabic it will be like that “ م ر ح ب ا” And thats not any better than “mar7ba”. Back to topic: I don’t see why they shouldn’t unblock special characters.

Turns out you can type Russian o_O.

And guess what? I've never met anyone abuse Russian characters, so it's not a stretch to imagine that 99% of people will use other languages appropriately.

I was walking down the street tonight, NO COSTUME, just me, my green sweater, and my brown dog. And someone gasps and says "Yooo it's Shaggy and Scooby Doo!" wild.
We used rainbow jelly… turns out it works on players too. 🌈
