Countless reports have been spiraling in lately of players saying things along the lines of
"Free VIP here!! Example.com"
And when you get to the page, it looks something like this;

Put your username below
_____________
Put your Email below
_____________
Put your password below i promise i won't hack u
_____________
and before you know it, people are losing their accounts
My suggestion to combat this is whenever a player joins the server, a message appears saying something similar to the following;
We will NEVER give out free ranks. If you witness anybody attempting to give away free ranks, report them at cubecraftgames.net
This will spread awareness to the younger audience who aren't too educated on the subject of phishing and scams.

It's a good idea, but yet in Assassins it says "HACKING WILL RESULT IN A BAN" and yet people that get banned from there still say they didn't know.
But you wouldn't suggest that the message is removed, would you? It isn't exactly going to get the message across to everybody, but it will certainly help the majority.

I like the idea, but it'd probably have to be translated in different languages since most of the players that fall prey to these scams are usually Spanish, Portugese or Dutch.

well this is an english server. :p

translating might be too clunky for a pop up message, maybe put up some signs in the lobby that are translated into multiple languages?

Yes, the server is located in the UK, but the majority of the players don't speak English. Most speak the languages that were previously mentioned.

Hackers already know that it's not allowed the second they download it...Why should telling them really change things? Anyways, Minecraft says to never open links from people you don't trust so it can be said that it's their own responsibility.

I'll never understand how this happened

If people are dumb enough to type their password and e-mail in to a random site that they got linked to, then that is their fault, but when a user does advertise a phishing site, they (and all of their alternative accounts) will be muted/banned, and then we will take care of the site. They are becoming less common as people realize that it's just people wanting accounts. Plus, as said above, in assassinations a message like that appears, but obviously people don't take note of it, although it is a good idea, I don't think that it is needed. Start a conversation with me for any inquires about my decision. Thread closed.
