It’s pride month. So I think we should have some sort of way of respecting this. Some ways of doing this are, getting a message to pop up when u log on this month that says β€œhappy pride monthβ€œ, adding a flag with a rainbow in the lobby, or the one I want for this suggestion having all default capture the flag flags turn into lgbtq+ flags. It might be too late for this and then maybe it would be nice to keep this in mind for next time there’s a special occasion.

Let me say this. This another way this COULD be implemented is to have a purchasable rainbow flag πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ 🌈 as an option to buy in a rank or something that would be branded as a rainbow flag but people could use it as a way to represent the lgbtq+ community. Because @Technosword mentioned that if it was branded as an lgbtq flag, we would be forced to do this for all other human rights. So we wouldn’t actually state it as an lgbtq+ flag but for those who know, could use it as an lgbtq+ flag.

I'm with this, but there will always be negatives. People will always be haters, they will disagree and make people feel sad. This happened at my school for idahobit day (international day against homophobia, transphobia, biphobia)
People were also negative. if people feel comfortable and cubecraft can make people feel welcome, then absolutely!

The truth is that I do not see it as something necessary, supporting minorities would make it look good, but the problem is that most of the players are children, they see that their favorite server / game has and shows these, I see it as a forced way of that they know it, if they are going to know it, that they discover it themselves

Trust me, if they're gay they'll find out.

But they won’t even have to know it like that. Those who know, will know. And those who don’t will just see Rainbow ctf flags

I spoke to the staff team about something similar and the consensus was that something like this is more performative and may result in future controversy. Like if you change the flags for pride month would you have to change them for every human rights issue? I believe donating profits to organizations would be better than changing the flag colors, but I like the creativity in the idea! Hope you understand my reasoning for disagreeing :)

Ok, at least you explained why you disagreed bc I was quite confused with the mixed opinions. This suggestion to me anyways isn’t mean to raise awareness but more so as a simple sign of respect. Its main purpose would just be to have cool flags and those who know just know.

Changing the flags for every issue ofc that’s not happening. It’s more of thing that you have to accept that not everyone can equally recognize every single special occasions.

I now believe that having a rainbow flag for buying a rank or something would be nice. It would he called a rainbow flag but people can use it to represent themselves. Just a little double meaning thing so kids can have rainbows, but people will know it’s for the lgbtq+ community.
Thanks for the response though!

You make some good points! I’ve changed my response to unsure, it’d be cool to hear more opinions from the people that reacted :)

It seems to me a great idea, even if it is to have the rainbow rank I would buy it, I also consider that it would be a symbol of respect before the LGTB + community

This would be amazing, but obviously you'll get the haters and the people who will complain. As technosword said, if this happened, they'd probably have to do it for every human right issue.

Even changing the logo to have a rainbow background until the end of the month would be nice. That's what Hive and Galaxite did.

I mean, that's up to you guys, but I feel like changing some small parts of the server in order to support those who need it is necessary. I don't understand why it'd cause 'future controversy' either, because it all comes down to accepting people the way they are, right? If other players were to get upset because of this, I personally wouldn't want them on the network.

The controversy comes from not changing our logo, but from not changing any thing else for other issues like BLM or Anti-Semitism.

How does this make sense?

Pride month/gay pride = the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people as a social group.

BLM = a decentralized political and social movement
anti-semitism = hostility to or prejudice against Jewish people

Don't get me wrong, I'm completely for pride month and BLM and against anti-semitism, but pride month is so different from these other two! Pride month is a short amount of time in which we commemorate the stonewall riots, BLM is a political view that (sadly) some people still oppose. There is no such thing as 'BLM month' because it is a protest rather than a commemoration or celebration.

Edit: I still disagree with having some form of 'pride feature' but that's for other reasons. To me, it feels really preachy and insincere when a company, any company, promotes stuff like this. To me it always just feels like the companies that do this are doing it to try to gain attention and are using pride month to make more money.
