Hello!
I really do not know how to do an intro, so Imma' get right into this thread.

I've been playing Cube nearly every day for the past 91034783264023 months (im joking, if you can't tell) and I've been noticing a lot of things that either just need plain improvement, or just completely tick me off.

Here's what this thread will include:
  • Sky Wars improvements
  • Egg Wars improvements
  • Minerware improvements
  • Arcade improvements
  • Sentinel improments
  • Banning, Muting, etc
  • Length of bans, mutes, etc
Let's get into Sky Wars!

Sky Wars is a lovely game, with many maps and game modes. It's most definitely the most popular game on the server, other than Egg Wars, and it most definitely has its perks! But, let's look around the wonderful time we all play on it, and look at stuff that needs to be improved.

1. Spacing: The spacing between islands on maps varies throughout each map. Yet, let's look at the maps that are nearly 20 to 30 blocks apart. Map Flowers, Nether, Drought, Castle, Canyon, definitely Music, and Paris are all WAY too far apart from each other. With nearly two to three chests at most on each island, it sometimes is very hard to get a lot of blocks. I believe that they should be moved just a tiny bit closer.

(I had a whole lot of other ideas in my head, and while writing this, they all went POOF. Imma' edit in the rest, later XD)

Let's get into Egg Wars!

Egg Wars is most definitely a slow-paced thrilling game, but it is also very cool and the amount of tactics you can have are unbelievable! Yet, there are some things that aren't so good about it.

1. Diamond Generators: On each island, there is bound to be a diamond generator somewhere. Whether you are playing team or solo mode, you can always find one nearby. Yet, finding one, is the real hassle. I play Egg Wars a lot with friends, and sometimes when I can't remember which map we're doing, we waste at least 10 minutes of our time looking for our diamond generator, only to find out that it's on another island, out of eye sight from our main island with our egg. I suggest a main diamond generator should be spawned on every main island, either being broken, or level 1.

2. Chain Armor: Let's face it, it is almost rare to see people wearing chain armor. I hardly ever see anyone with chain armor, plus, it's just a waste of gold. Maybe remove it? I don't know.

3. Fireworks: Whenever you upgrade a generator, there is a particle affect where fireworks burst from the generator to signal it has been upgraded. (true?) I have one of the most high definition gaming computers, good internet, and amazing fps, yet whenever this firework-explosion happens, it just drops like flies. My fps drains incredibly, and if there are enemies there, you lag like crazy. (and then get accused of hacking, because you spam W to move around, and it looks like you're glitching across the screen -.- *cough* sorry) There are many suggestions to fix this. 1, turn off particles. (A friend and I tested this, we upgraded one generator with particles on and got the same lag. We went to the same map afterwards and upgraded it again without particles, still got the same lag.) I think there should be an in-game option to turn this affect off, or maybe just die-down the amount of fireworks used.

[Edit ] Both Sky Wars and Egg Wars
Towering: Towering should be banned. I feel like it's the same thing as camping. Someone stacks 20 to 30 blocks in the air, you can't just leave them to get even more stuff. It's only common sense to go after them, right? Wrong. You stack up to them and whoop! They jump down and knock you right to your death either by fall damage or falling into the void. It's so annoying. This should be banned.

Let's get into Minerware!

Minerware is so fun to play (in my opinion), with many games and it is always fun to see yourself in the top three at the end of the game. But, there are some things that could be updated to make game play fully enjoyable!

1. Moving Around: In Minerware, unlike any other game, you have the ability to push people (thanks to the update). This is so annoying, in my opinion, because it's literally one of the only games you can do so. When playing the mini game where you dodge the anvils, (spoiler for a good tactic if you think this one is impossible) I have a tendency to look up. This almost always works to win that round, unless someone literally knocks into you and pushes you into a falling anvil. This affect where you can move people around should be removed.

Let's get into the Aracade!

We can't lie, the Arcade has once been an amazing place, one of the most popular genre of games on the server. In my opinion, it all went down hill with the last update. (This is all my opinion, I'm just stating how I feel)

1. Dead Games: Every new game that came out were very lively at first. Key words, at first. Then, the amount of players just drained very slowly. Now, we have two games that are popular. Layer Spleef, and Line Dash. Every other game is basically dead, included the Mixed Arcade. Barn Brawl has literally no players on, included with Wing Rush. I don't know how to fix this. Maybe add back some of the old Arcade games? Surely they haven't been deleted. Maybe.. Quake Craft and Parkour Minigame?

2. Parkour: The Parkour in the main lobby of the Arcade is literally impossible, with the one around-the-corner jump. It would be possible if there wasn't a gap between the wall that blocks you from jumping. I say make it easier.

3. Old Arcade: Literally, bring back most of the old Arcade games. They were original, fun, and popular.

Sentinel.

Sentinel has worked super fine before the older update. Yes, it has some flaws, but it is a computer, and still needs work and updating. I made an earlier thread about this, but I guess I'll state it again. Sentinel, now, is merely catching the small hackers; via hacks with glitching a half block higher, a small kill aura, b-hop, etc. Sentinel doesn't catch the hackers that have the major hacks. Yes, as Sentinel gets better, so will hackers. But it doesn't mean Sentinel shouldn't catch the ones that are literally zooming across the map with speed hacks, or flying to the skies with fly hacks, or their heads are literally having seizures with kill-aura. Maybe this needs to be looked into, because it's kind of getting to me.

Length of Bans, Mutes, Etc.

Players being banned and muted for the first time should be lengthened, in my opinion. For teaming or hacking for the first ban you get, it's one day. One day will not stop players from hacking, teaming, etc at all from doing it again. I suggest the first ban should be a week, then the second a month, then the third perm. Mutes are kind of okay in my opinion, because they are rather lengthy.

Bans, Mutes, etc.

What I have noticed whenever I report a player is that it normally gets denied. I guess this is normal for any given player. Yet, I have noticed that sometimes (im not blaming any1 right here) the reasons given why they aren't punished are very, well, bland. What I commonly see is 'It's not sufficient evidence,' but I am suggesting the staff take time to explain why to actually give us a sense on how to catch a real hacker? It would honestly be so much help, since sometimes we're literally left in the dark.

That concludes my thread of mini-suggestions. Again, these are all things that have been lingering on my mind, and I am not dissing anything here. Lemme' know what you think.

It's most definitely the most popular game on the server,
Right after Blockband

Minerware moving in most cases doesn’t effect the game only really effects lava floor, parkour eat cake, and anvil fall
So no need to change it if you ask me
Those 3 games are more intense that way
If it greatly effected most microgames then maybe but with the few it effects I like it

Arcade would have a lot more players
If the game wasn’t broken
All the games are currently broken
Where once a 10 round thing starts if there are 5 or less people at any given time throughout a 10rouns game after the start nobody else can join in
This is obviously problematic
Before this happened I found a decent amount of players
Paintball, layer spleef, and line dash are effected even more since each usually doesn’t have any open games due to this bug

As for Sentinel
Remember how Sentinel bans in waves?
Sentinel still does
Just there are a lot of none wave bans
So someone zooming across a map may be banned but only in the wave

Also towering counts as skybasing as for both eggwars and skywars so yeah
Unless by towering you mean building up to get over a bridge gap or just an unsafe bridge
That isn’t bannable is actually just strategic

Seriously, #BringBackTheOldArcade should start up again. Though, it'll never happen.

Still, it should still monitor these people. @Simbaaa and I followed a hacker around for at least an hour, recording, 'catching', etc. Sentinel should be up-to-date with every single person on the server, and not just ban in waves. It should monitor people at all times, even if it does now, and ban continuously, because hackers are ruining the game for everyone.

Ah. I mean stacking infinitely into the air and waiting there to jump and hit you.

1. Spacing:
I really like very little space in between islands but it's good to have variety as well. I don't want to feel like every map is just a re-skin of another. Paris actually has very close islands now. ;)

2. Chain Armor: Let's face it, it is almost rare to see people wearing chain armor. I hardly ever see anyone with chain armor, plus, it's just a waste of gold. Maybe remove it? I don't know.
I like to buy chain armor in OP after I've rushed a few islands without going to middle. I think the price should be decreased at least to make it viable in other modes but I also wouldn't mind it being removed.

3. Old Arcade:
It would be cool to see quakecraft come back with how popular it was but I honestly hated Super Craft Bros. It was just the most unbalanced game I had ever played. I never actually played hourglass myself since the game was broken and I don't see a reason to bring back the parkour minigame when a whole Parkour mode is coming out.

Bans, Mutes, etc.
I think most mutes should definitely be lengthened except for spamming as it's such a small thing.

I would be very ok with removing the warning for swearing stage entirely and starting the punishment out at a few hours/a day mute but I don't think that will ever happen.

For team trolling and teaming I don't think it would be completely fair to increase the ban directly. I suggested an "Advanced Punishment System" before where teamers wouldn't be banned from the server but just wouldn't be allowed to access any team mode during their punishment. Most servers don't ban people for chat offenses since it's a bad idea to ban so many players off of your server so why not limit the number of bans even more if you don't need to ban the player? I think it would be completely fair to raise the punishments significantly if they weren't actually banned off the server. (Teamers couldn't access team mode during the punishment time, team trollers couldn't access team games like TD and blockwars, and possibly campers could only play games that camping isn't viable like blockwars, minerware, and arcade)

I agree with most of the other current punishments though.

Bans, Mutes, etc.
I'll be sure to take this into consideration if I ever get to handle a report myself. ;) Most staff sign their names in denied reports and you can start a conversation with them if you think your report was mishandled.

As for the other suggestions I either wouldn't know of any orignal response or don't know enough about to give a response. (I usually give up on the arcade parkour two jumps in myself)

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

This isn’t a bug it is a feature

As I mentioned it only effects those 3 games
It makes 3 games that are relatively easy and adds difficulty to them
I’ll admit parkour eat cake is a bit obnoxious but still
Ah. I mean stacking infinitely into the air and waiting there to jump and hit you.
Yeah so bridging over while you also stack up
I a man not sure whether that would count as skybasing if they do it to hit you off assuming you follow

I appreciate this response, I guess I could agree with the variety. It's just the new update with chests has me a little unsettled as I dislike the newer updates.

Ah, I see your tactic. That's pretty smart. I still think it should be removed, as I barely seen anyone using it.

Yes, I miss the old Arcade very much. It was literally my home. Literally.

I agree.

I wouldn't say removing it would be such a good idea since that basically warns SOME players off, but I see what you're trying to propose.
For team trolling and teaming I don't think it would be completely fair to increase the ban directly. I suggested an "Advanced Punishment System" before where teamers wouldn't be banned from the server but just wouldn't be allowed to access any team mode during their punishment.
I actually quite like this idea. That was, they can't disrupt any games going on. Maybe it could be for the first offense, whereas the rest would be a normal ban?
I'll be sure to take this into consideration if I ever get to handle a report myself. ;) Most staff sign their names in denied reports and you can start a conversation with them if you think your report was mishandled.

Thank you for all your responses! (And same, I can't get past that one jump. D:)

I still think it should be punishable. You are literally 'camping' at the top of your tower. I had someone sit up there for nearly 10 minutes while I stacked around them.

(I had a whole lot of other ideas in my head, and while writing this, they all went POOF. Imma' edit in the rest, later XD)
I honestly prefer maps with plenty of space between islands. In recent updates, they've changed many of my favorite maps to be rush based more than anything. I don't want any changes to happen to the maps you mentioned. (oh and Paris doesn't even have much space between islands if you go through mid).
I've ranted about this a few times, but Skywars isn't what it used to be, and that's because the maps are all built for rushing in the first 5 seconds now where everyone without a good sword and some armour in their first chest might be instantly screwed over by the rushing problem. Almost every map is now rush based over actual strategy, and to top all of that off, no projectiles has ruined pretty much every map including the ones with space.

No thanks. The maps that don't have a generator on the island are usually pretty anti-camper. This is mainly because you can block teams off of their diamond gens with ease.
And also, starting with a level 1 gen is an obvious no. That'd be a camper's paradise.

2. Chain Armor: Let's face it, it is almost rare to see people wearing chain armor. I hardly ever see anyone with chain armor, plus, it's just a waste of gold. Maybe remove it? I don't know.
I actually use it pretty often on maps like Snowy, Tropical, and other maps where gold is bountiful. It's a nice option to have, and removing it just because it isn't used by everyone is a pretty bad reason if you ask me.

I've honestly never had this problem myself and I don't even have an amazing computer or anything. Optifine helps, and especially disabling the particles would help.
I guess that if disabling the particles doesn't help you, they could just remove the effect since it's pretty pointless. Sounds alone would work just fine in my opinion.

That's where projectiles come in handy. If you don't have any, just come back to them later. You're not forced to follow them up there.
Besides, would you want to ban someone if they bridge away to another island and break the bridge behind them? or would you ban someone if they bowed you as you crossed somewhere? I wouldn't, since it's a pretty smart move if they've gotten the chance to do so. Pillaring up is the least of my worries in these games, and in Skywars this is only a problem because of the no-projectiles mode (Which, again, I hate).

I haven't played much minerware, but I honestly think the player collision should stay in a game like that. It's not just you dealing with the microgames, but it's you dealing with the microgames while trying to beat others as well.

This really wouldn't fix the fact that the other games are dead.

2. Parkour: The Parkour in the main lobby of the Arcade is literally impossible, with the one around-the-corner jump. It would be possible if there wasn't a gap between the wall that blocks you from jumping. I say make it easier.
I've done it. Many times.
Not all parkour has to be ridiculously easy.

3. Old Arcade: Literally, bring back most of the old Arcade games. They were original, fun, and popular.
They weren't very popular nor original. The only actual original one there was, was Hourglass. That wasn't even very popular.
Fun is subjective.

The best you can do is just report them. The video you provide can be used to improve the anti-cheat.
As you probably already know, Crazy's constantly working on improving it. The best way to help him is to supply video evidence of others cheating. Simple as that.

First time is more of a rough warning.
If they continue, they get to deal with longer punishments, and eventually even a permanent one. I see no problems with it.

As cool as that'd be, insufficient evidence is still insufficient. Most of the time it's just the lack of actual length when it comes to the actual rulebreaking part. Aside from that, the only other reason I could think of is just a false accusation when someone's cheating or teaming or whatever.
Aside from that, the staff would have to make a detailed explanation for every report they do. That'd take them at least another 10 minutes per report, and would only make the system less efficient. It's best to leave it as is.

That's why we have multiple SkyWars Maps. I mean we have maps that are indeed a bit more spaced, maps connected to the middle (Jungle), very close maps such as Trees and Savanna, etc.

I personally enjoy very close maps much more although other players might enjoy spaced maps.

Also about Paris, islands might be spaced but the islands are very close to a sub-mid wich at the same time connects the island.

I get it, but it's ridiculous that some maps you barely get blocks in your chests, and are spaced with 20 blocks away. (Nether)

Uhm, no. They're not. Some maps do not have diamond generators directly on the spawn island, but if it's voted for OP items, it shouldn't take you 10 minutes searching for your diamond generator after you've gone to mid to upgrade it.
would be impossible to enforce
It wouldn't be impossible. The fact that it's so clear that people sit on top of their tower to get you to come up and hit you off is clear camping. This should be punishable
that’s just minecraft they can’t change it
Okay, so every other game that has this moving-affect turned off is just Minecraft turning it off? They can change it.
I’m sorry but if I was staff I wouldn’t want to type an essay every time I respond to a report.
If you've read any comments before, I've explained that it doesn't need to be an essay. It can be from a sentence to even a few words, but having some sort of explanation should be given, so we're not all left clueless.

So don't choose nether if you don't like it?

how do you suggest getting a network of players to stop building towers?

Chain armour is as viable in eggwars as it is in vanilla singleplayer. (Not viable at all).

They can disable player collision, as is the case in all other mingames on Cubecraft.

2. Chain Armor: Let's face it, it is almost rare to see people wearing chain armor. I hardly ever see anyone with chain armor, plus, it's just a waste of gold. Maybe remove it? I don't know.
People use chain a lot in Speed Eggwars as often the mid diamond generators are very slow, and there's often no time to wait to get iron armour.
To be consistent and provide players with more choice I think it should be kept.

In the long-term, banning every cheater instantly would have a worse effect since that gives a load of information to hacked client developers so they know better how to bypass Sentinel for their next client release/update.
