RelicWars - Free-to-Access EggWars Variant
What is RelicWars?
RelicWars is a new EggWars variant that can be selected via the EggWars lobby. It takes place on EggWars maps and uses the same mechanics, with one exception: There's only one egg, and it's in the middle. The objective of this game is to rush the middle and acquire the egg, and drag the heavy artifact back to your villager. The winner is the first team to capture and return three eggs to their base, however this win condition is subject to change depending on how long games tend to take. This gamemode is free to access, and plays totally differently to the usual EggWars experience.
The player who carries the egg will be brought to a halt by Slowness III. They will also be unable to attack, meaning they're totally relying on their team mates to defend them. To assist them, they'll also have Resistance III, and a custom enchantment that removes all knockback from them. Any form of healing will be disabled in this state; this game really is all about teamwork.
Mechanics
-Unlike in ordinary EggWars, players can respawn infinitely, however they will have a spawn delay of about three seconds
-There will be no eggs on players' islands, but there will be one in the middle. Players are to farm iron as usual to acquire gear and blocks, and must then bridge to the middle
-Only one player may hold the egg at the time, and the egg will only respawn if dropped or brought back to a villager
-The player holding the egg will instantly be afflicted with the following: Weakness X, Slowness III, Resistance III, and a custom enchantment that removes all knockback from them
-Diamond and gold generators will still spawn naturally. This is to encourage heavy fighting in middle and to totally discourage camping, since you're going to want every single team mate of yours in the centre instead of back at base, where they'll be of no use to you as you have nothing to defend
Roles
To give you a better understanding of how this game will play out, here are a few roles that players may choose to adopt:
Relic Runner
This role is best suited for those who are weak in the art of PvP. Their job is to gear up in decent armour, grab the egg, and be escorted back home. That's it! No fighting nor farming required.
Defender
The Defender role is best suited for those who thrive in combat. Their job is to escort their Relic Runner back home, fending off all opposition to their very vulnerable ally. They may also adopt a bow to shoot enemy Defenders off their bridges, thereby exposing enemy Relic Runners who are returning the egg .
Collector
The Collector role is a support role most fitting for those with limited PvP experience. Their job is to find and hold down the generators in middle, return their plunder to their island, and provide the Relic Runner and Defenders with better equipment.
Incentives
Players will receive:
-Two experience and one point per kill
-Five experience and three points per kill on egg carriers
-Five experience and five points per generator upgraded
-One-hundred experience and thirty-five points per win
-A 1/24 chance of receiving a cubelet per win
-A 1/64 chance of receiving a Points Pinata per win
-A 1/128 chance of receiving a Cubelet Pinata per win
Generators and the Shop
Since RelicWars is awfully similar to EggWars, much of the shop will remain identical to how it is now. However, a few changes will exist:
-Due to the nature of the game, obsidian is obsolete. Instead, gold can be exchanged for very large quantities of blocks
-Due to the nature of the game, enderpearls are far less powerful. They will cost half their original price and can also be purchased in exchange for greater quantities of gold. Egg carriers will be unable to use them. This is exclusively as a countermeasure to mid camping, however this shouldn't be as overpowered as it is in regular EggWars
-Emerald generators are universally disabled
-Punch bows are disabled

Reward: 250 experience, 100 cubelets
Name: Flightless birds
Requirements: Kill three players to fall/void damage in one game
Reward: 80 experience
Name: Plucked
Requirements: Be killed as the egg carrier
Reward: 20 experience
Name: Phoenix
Requirements: Kill a player via fire damage
Reward: 50 experience
Name: Take flight
Requirements: Reach the highest point of the world
Reward: 50 experience
Name: Icarus
Requirements: Reach the lowest point of the world (must be standing on a block)
Reward: 50 experience
Note: The traditional 'Win X games' and 'Get X kills' achievements will also be included, as well as 'Get X captures'.
Vote option - Relic Defender
Relic Defender is a vote option that requires Lapiz+ ranks to select. Much is the same in this game, except:
-Players only need to capture one egg to win
-When an egg carrier is killed, the egg will be dropped to the ground instead of being returned to the middle. Simply walk over to it to pick it up
-Upon returning the egg to your island it will be placed totally exposed beside your villager, and it must remain undisturbed for thirty seconds. Protect it, and you win. Let an enemy take it, and you'll be having to kill them to get it back
-Bows of any variety are disabled
