Lots of humans have been complaining about the lack of originality in Skywars following the addition of chest refills. "Skywars is like High Pickle now!!!", "You copied High Pickle!!!" If a lack of originality is what everybody is upset about, then I would like to offer an alternative that keeps the basic idea of introducing more loot, but makes the process of doing so unique to Cubecraft.
Replace "Chest refills" with Exotic Chests
I propose keeping the refill system, but making it more "original", in a way that simultaneously discourages camping and rewards those who have claimed territory through brute force. Essentially, rather than refilling every single chest on the map, which overloads every remaining player with the best items in the game, just have a small number of chests spawn around the map, on a random assortment of islands. These will appear as enderchests, and will be marked in the sky by a beacon. Once a player opens and then closes it, the chest will shatter, much like in Assassins.
The loot will be as juicy as it is right now, with a chance to acquire enderpearls, golden apples, weapons and armour. However, because there are significantly fewer chests on the map, not everybody will be able to get the top gear.
The number of Exotic Chests that spawn will depend on the size of the map, with small maps having between four and six, and larger maps having between six and ten. The middle of each map will also have between two and four chests on it, as for middle to maintain its rewarding nature.
New Exotic Chest
"But how does this stop camping, idiot?"
Well, because these chests will appear on random islands and in small quantities, players are no longer guaranteed at least two crates packed to the top with loot just for sitting around and waiting. Instead, they have to go out and actually fight for these chests, before anybody else can swipe them. This creates competition, and also works as both a magnet and a compass. For example, if you see that a beacon has just been extinguished, then obviously somebody is over there. Not only that, but they have a lot of gear. On the other hand, if it hasn't been extinguished yet then you're going to run over to it; so is everybody else. Thus, players are drawn towards one another.
The only exception to this is middle, a position that can be attacked from any direction and thus is vulnerable enough for camping to be less of an issue.
Pros
-Game is not flooded with as much loot
-Camping is discouraged
-Unique #UniqueCCG
-Gives you a reason to vote for night time (beacons look bootyful at night)
-Brings everybody together; chests are player magnets
-Encourages more people to bridge to middle
Cons
-Players may dislike this idea
-Middle remains a very powerful position
-Might mean scrapping parts of the current system
Thoughts, Skywars fans?
