Redstone
For people who like traps and tricks, redstone could be added, maybe as a kit or in chests. I am aware that such thing may exist on the Java Edition, so adding a redstone kit to bedrock would increase parity between the versions. If players are fast enough and/or are skilled with redstone, this would be the perfect way to allow them to put their skills to use in skywars, possibly making a piston pitfall activated by a pressure plate or tripwire, or maybe a semi-hidden dispenser that pelts them with arrows, or possibly lava or potions upon activation.
Lava and potions
Speaking of lava buckets and potions from the previous suggestion, those are items which in my opinion could be added to more maps and be made more accessible, again possibly with a kit or found in chests. Currently, potions are very rare in regular Skywars (disregarding chaos mode, which has a very limited selection of potions), and lava can only be obtained occasionally on certain maps, with a bucket made by either smelting iron ore or rarely finding iron blocks on the same maps as the lava. Making these more accessible would make traps more viable, and make pvp even more interesting.
New tools and armor
Making more tools available would also be welcome. Now that the 1.16 nether update is out, netherite items could occasionally be added into the mix, maybe only on certain maps or in the center chests of overpowered chest items. Fishing rods could also potentially be useful to some types of players, I have seen them used in pvp.
Other suggestions
- Ender pearls could be introduced earlier into games, maybe on the first chest refill, to offer easier escape from sticky situations like multiple people on you at once (game size in solos usually reduces to around 3 or 4 by the time the chests refill for the 2nd time)
- Enchantment tables and bottles of enchanting (for xp) could be added to enchant armor and tools
- Increase game size in solos from 12-16 to maybe 20-24
- Possible way to vote for maps before the game starts (this would likely require a small overhaul of the current system where players start above the map they'll be playing on). This would also provide data on which maps people prefer and don't prefer, which could be put towards improving player experience and can be kept in mind when new maps are being created. This way, VIP maps could also be added, maps that can only be voted for if one has VIP status (just like chest items voting)
